The type of people who call up ofcom to complain about a tv show are the same people who go to a restaurant and complain about the food after they’ve ate every single bite
@joeogle7729

No i think most Ofcom complaints are from the competition. And they have people combing over ever fine detail to find something to dob them in for. Ofcom have a bulletin of all the screw ups from the last month and there is a hilarious part where it describes in clinical language which part of the body was exposed for too long. another great story is a audio technician at Jazz FM who was watching some "adult content" and he decided to plug his computer into the mixing desk. which meant it was being broadcast...

I believe someone once complained to Ofcom when there was a vag slip on babestation. Like who sits there watching boobs but a vag comes on and it's like 'that's filthy, I need to complain'. Come to think of it, who sits there watching.

Roxanne should have faced serious legal action for her false allegation. For every false allegation it lessens the time that the authorities can spend on proper crimes.
@TheOmegaRiddler
@TheOmegaRiddler 4 ай бұрын
The problem with that is that because she was the one who faced consequences, it makes any civil action impossible because no one believes her. To sue someone, you need actual damages like harm of reputation which results in loss of work, and she didn't succeed in that goal. And what she did was unfortunately not a crime, it only would have become a crime if she falsely reported him to the police.

Roxanne should have faced criminal charges for sure. What she did wasn’t only extremely nasty to the lad who she wrongly accused but to every victim out there who struggle to convince people because we’ve seen how women like this convince themselves of a lie and stick to it regardless of the drama it causes. If they hadn’t had a camera absolutely everywhere she may have succeeded in destroying his life!

Clarkson is right about train jumpers. My brother worked on the railways and the numberr of times he had to clear up the remains of someone who'd been hit by a train. What people don't realise is that when you're hit bey a train you burst open like a squashed rotten tomato and there are bits of you splashed up to 100 yrds in all directions. My brother had to give it up in the end and retired from the railways early because of "One Under" as jumpers were called back then, they may still be for all I know.

It’s not selfish, it is deeply ill people that have died due to a serious condition. While I empathise with anyone in a job where they have to deal with traumatic scenes people don’t jump in front of trains to piss off members of the public. Yeah i agree. I worked in a couple of jobs in the public sector. While there were some hardworking and dedicated people there, I was amazed at the number of people who did the barest minimum and still got a decent paycheck (for their role) and routine increases. If they were to work in the private sector they would have been fired, or at the very least have a stagnating and lower wage. The trouble is, it was very difficult to get sacked from those jobs, so they could do as little as possible and still be set for life. And some public sector jobs pay too much for what they do. Thisit the knock on effect of making the services expensive, e.g. tranportation.

@@r4h4al True. It's amazing how often guys like Clarkson and Morgan actually capture the zeitgeist and say what people are thinking, but are too afraid to acknowledge that they are thinking it. "There are too many immigrants coming in and living off state benefits." Show me _one_ person who actually disagrees with that. But when it is said, the reply is "[gasp, shock, horror] Raycyst!!!"

@@christinemolloy2723 Agree - all it does is show you the difference in standards. The supposedly 'tough and outrageous' Pistols look incredibly shy and just act like youngsters fighting that shyness with loose aggression. It has no zero shock effect now and only really did back then as swearing was not allowed on television - it was more of a novelty than anything else.

@@skylined5534 I was told that it was real by my mother before it aired, and it did come across as realistic until the end credits when the ghost and an anonymous main had their names revealed lol. But did feel real at the time though and it did receive a good few complaints too. This was before the days of Derek Acorah and and all these other ghost programmes on TV nowadays.
