Its mainly because Peter, Lucy and Steven’s mother Cindy was evil, Peter and Lucy didn’t inherit that trait but Steven did which is why Ian was always weary of Steven.

Kerry Norington He wasn’t a psycho, if he was he wouldn’t of apologised or even showed remorse. The character just wanted to be loved as everyone kept rejecting him including Simon himself.
