Too much risk of upsetting the PC brigade apart from anything. The "gender-reversed" Dot and Jim we used to see on Alistair McGowan would now be too "offensive", as would McGowan himself playing Lynne in the cafe. No possible impression of any non-white character would escape criticism. Only "woke comedy" is now allowed, and that's not comedy at all. Joyless scolds, who are often mentally ill and just want to inflict their misery onto others while claiming that they're "standing up for people", are unquestionably ruining our culture. Even in the few years since the comment I'm replying to, it's got immeasurably worse. And it's not being done for the benefit of anyone except the powerful.

Can any1 remember an episode of Big Impression (Think it was an xmas special) where the impressionists were playing the Eastenders cast singing showtunes? I specifically remember Dot & Jim singing "Never too late to fall in love" (Wackadoo- Wackadoo!) One of the funniest things I ever saw but have never seen it on TV again since.
