Do not buy cheeks in TS store new brooders they have now is awful chicks dying quickly because temperature is not right. Nice video very informative.

Ya, I’ve heard that about our local TS Store as well. I believe our IFA brings them in as day or week old chicks but absolutely will not sell them until they have grown for a couple/few weeks. They keep them in separate racks so you can see what will be available soon if they are out of the type you want that are ready for sale. Ive never had a chick die that I got from IFA.

Rarely, I wish I was not color blind. This is one of those times. All those eggs looked white to me. Unless they were dark then they look brown.

Lovely chickens, my family used to keep a few chickens rescued from battery farms but only 1 of them was chill enough to let us hold her, the others would always flutter away. Your chickens all look so chill.

This is so fun! I got 10 Easter Eggers from TS this morning! They're mostly a light yellow with faded black markings. I'm excited to see how they feather out!

Ah So exciting!!! My Easter Eggers are 6 weeks old this week, and I just let them out in the yard for the first time today! Getting our coop finished in the next week or so! I can't wait to see what color eggs we get in a few months!!! :) Love your videos! Awesome job!

@@OakAbode mine were in our mudroom until about 3 weeks old and then I moved them to the garage, they are still driving me crazy in there, but until the coops finished at least they aren't in my house! :P new youtuber here too, I just started in November :) Neat that a few of us all found each other through your chicken videos!

Thank you so much for these videos. We are new to raising chickens, have watched all of your videos and they are so helpful! We have 5 Easter Eggers and 5 Sapphire Gems that are all a week old and we can't wait to see them grow up. Owning a sawmill, we are able to build a good sized coop (6'x8') and following your advice and building a deep litter coop with a 24' x 8' run. We have never raised chicks before but love all of their personalities.

I just bought 4 Lil Easter egger chicks. I have 4 adult barred rock chickens now and I just love the muffed Lil girls. I had an americana chicken named Gracie, she was killed by a possum..broke my heart. She had the best personality.😮‍💨

I have a chicken that looks just like an Easter egger. She’s 21 weeks old , but hasn’t laid yet. She hatched from a brown egg will she just lay brown eggs?

Do you keep the eggs out or refrigerated? Also how long do they keep?

I refrigerate them after washing them, which removes the protective membrane. Usually they say eggs keep at room temperature, unwashed, for 5ish weeks. (Some say more.)

Why not just buy Ameraucanas from Cackle Hatchery , or one of the other hatcheries? Ameraucanas will give you nice blue eggs.

When they first lay eggs can be smaller. I would try to ensure getting extra calcium 💕🐓

Can you do a video on how to tell the difference between Ameraucanas and Easter Eggers?.. we were sold 4 Amercaucanas, but I believe they are Easter eggers.

Ameraucanas have bright blue eggs and have more noticeable muffs (feather tufts) on their faces. A lot of Easter Eggers tend to lay green because many have Ameraucana and maran in their ancestry.

Nope, a hen will lay the same color egg, with slight variations in tint as she said, throughout their lives.

@@jessicaharrison4719 Our girls are now almost 2 years old. Easter Eggers are so much fun! As stated in the video, each hen lays a different color. We know exactly who laid which egg and when. Even the shape is specific to a certain bird! It’s not as easy with our Speckled Sussex but we are fairly confident on which one laid a particular egg. It makes it easy to see if someone needs more calcium, has to much calcium, or is heat stressed etc. If you have a chance check out my “shorts” videos to see our flock!
