I have a major passion for flowers and beauty and design and I think I want to become a florist. I have an interview with a florist on Saturday, but Ive become really concerned when I recently heard someone say the flowers are covered in harmful pesticides especially coming from other countries with different regulations. Whats your opinion on this, how do you protect yourself or do you think its a concern? Have you experienced any reactions? I hope you see this x

Hi Fawn! I saw it 🌸 I’m glad to see you are interested in floral design. Unfortunately there are alot of chemicals and sprays on flowers because they are imported from all over the world. If you want to Protect yourself I recommend wearing gloves while handling the flowers and to not eat or consume liquids while working so that way you are lessening the changes of you exposing yourself to these chemicals. Personally it wasn’t until last year in 2022 that I stated using gloves more regularly while working. I hope it works out for you! Let me know if u have any questions you can dm me on Instagram 🌸

@@Flowersbyalexis Thank you Alexis. Ive started my job at the floral shop. I dont see anyone else wearing gloves. Im still not confident handling the flowers so am worried it will impair me further. But I am still concerned about chemical exposure for sure. We do get some flowers from south america which Ive heard doesnt have stringent regulations. 💖
