The end product is beautiful, it just feels a bit daunting as there are so many rules to understand. One feels that it would be difficult to emulate even the style in case of getting something horribly wrong. A fabulous immersive hobby to create beautiful arrangements, but not something that I have the time to invest in.
@iwatejapang Жыл бұрын
Thank you. It does seem a bit daunting at first, but once you understand the basics and do a few arrangements, it is much easier.

Could you make an arrangement in a small round space? I have made 2 ikebana bowls with a small diameter at the bottom of about 1.5”.
@iwatejapang4 жыл бұрын
mary carlino in a container that small, you would have to use materials that are very small. A Moribana arrangement needs a large space to be made.
@kiddywriter4 жыл бұрын
Stephen Coler Thanks Steve for your reply. The vase flares out...outer diameter is about 5”.
@iwatejapang4 жыл бұрын
mary carlino for a Moribana arrangement, you need a container with a large, flat bottom. With the container you made, it is not good for a Moribana arrangement. But you could do an arrangement like I did in the video.

Hi stephen. I have this small question, when we insert the stem into the kenzan, doesn't the end point of the stem becomes weak and provide not enough mechanical support?
@iwatejapang3 жыл бұрын
Hello. It is actually a very strong support. But if you reinsert many times, it doesn't weaken the stem and you will have to recut it. Some stems like snapdragon are weak, so you add a support to the part that will be inserted into the stem.
@raiyyanabdurrahim26453 жыл бұрын
@@iwatejapang Thanks for your reply Stephen. I understand that stems are quite strong enough to pivot the Kenzan. But what happens when I bend it to some angle. Besides why do I have to insert the stem and then bend it at some angle instead of inserting it so that it makes an angle by default? In addition, in my first comment I was so excited that I asked the question immediately which made me forget to appreciate your content. I am really grateful to you for making this clear video on Ikebana and also for replying to my query.
@iwatejapang3 жыл бұрын
@@raiyyanabdurrahim2645 I'm glad you enjoyed the video. You insert it in first and then lean it into position for strength. If you tried to insert the stem into the kenzan at the prescribed angle, you would most likely break the stem.
