Yuen Biao is amazing. He just oozes that swagger and that bravado so typical of the youthful and the heroic. His characters are always wonderfully quirky and eccentric, ever since "Knockabout"(1979). No one can do it like he did, not to this day.

He was amazing as the fish out of water type character in The Iceman Cometh and had very good chemistry with Maggie Cheung. I also saw him in a film called On The Run in which had a very decent dramatic role.

That agile one (5:27) is the wonderful, often underrated Yuen Biao. He actually performed at the same Chinese Drama Academy as Sammo Hung and Jackie Chan. His gymnastic ability back in the day, not to mention his incredible flexibility and kicking ability, was so amazing that he quite often doubled for other performers (sometimes he even doubled Sammo!). Yuen Wah, who plays the giggling General in this, also attended the same Academy. If I understand correctly he was about the only one whose flexibility surpassed that of Yuen Biao. It’s a real shame that it is very unlikely that you will get many fight scenes like this now, simply because most of today’s martial arts screen performers do not have the kind of background that allowed them to do great long sequences of action with a sense of rhythm and camera awareness (and it quite often took a huge amount of takes to get the shot that finally made it into the movie). At the moment the closest that I have seen to this is in the two _The Raid_ movies. _Eastern Condors_ was also the movie whose production prevented Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao from appearing alongside Jackie Chan in _Project A: Part II_ (both were in the first _Project A_ movie).

Yuen Biao doubled about everybody in the industry even Jackie Chan. Yuen Wah was in Bruce Lee's stunt team along Yuen Biao but Wah doubled for Bruce in the scenes where he had to do saumersaults and I think Biao doubled for Bruce in Game of Death.

@@tylerdordon99 Yuen Wah doubled for Bruce in Enter The Dragon when he does the tumbling somersault after sparring with Sammo. Then when he does the back somersault kick on O'Hara. Jackie was a stunt man in the movie too. You see him in the arm lock by Bruce in the before the famous nunchaku scene and he took a full on Bo staff strike to the face. Jackie was also a stunt man in Fist of Fury. He doubled for the Japanese baddie who Bruce flying kicked through the minka house wall.

Sammo was thinner in this movie. The lady who lost her hand, Joyce, is Sammo's real-life wife (2nd wife ... still is). Joyce was Miss HK 1984. The guy with the fan grew up with Sammo and Yuen Biao ... trained and performed together ... Sammo said that guy does somersaults really well/high.

This was such a star studded cast. You got Yuen Woo Ping the legendary fight choreographer and director in an acting role. Mr Vampire himself Lam Ching Ying. Corey Yuen the famous Director and action choreographer of such films as Righting Wrongs and Ninja in The Dragon's Den in an acting role as well. A cameo from the oscar winner guy from The Killing Fields. The baddies that show up at the end with Yuen Wah are Billy Chow and Dick Wei (I always forget the Japanese actor's name) and so many more.

Kurata Yasuake is the japanese actor. He was also in Shanghai Express and Lucky Stars 2 (Sammo beats him with a pair of tennis rackets).

The one arm girl with the knife is Joyce Mina Godenzi who married Samo Hung after his wife died of cancer. The Vietnamese soldier who was hanged by Yuen Biao is Yasuaki Kurata, a Japanese who always team up with Samo Hung, Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao in many of their movies. The Vietnamese colonel with the paper fan is played by Yuen Hua.

Yuen biao said 1 time in the Chinese opera training they were made to do handstand 4 almost a hour.. when everyone was sweating shaking and had running noses he looked over at Yuen wah and he was sleeping doing a handstand.. the best acrobat of the bunch.

I really liked the trio of Sammo Hung, Jackie Chan, and Yuen Biao, but my favorite was Yuen Biao! He was very versatile: backflips, stunts, and fights! However, when he fought, his moves were slower compared to Jackie Chan.

Sammo had a hard time getting in shape for this movie. He had to eat nothing but skinless chicken to slim down and be more convincing in the role. It was one of the only times he was pretty serious throughout and he wanted to look the part of a no BS soldier rather than the "Portly Kicker" he was known for.

this whole movie is a Chinese sham. It was the Chinese who brought troops to invade my country and then told themselves that it was only self-defense. ????
