This was better than the intros in game as it provides contrast between now and then. The emotional connection is very well understood once you can see what was lost to it's current predicament. And we can see why it's worth fighting for, to take back that which was taken in such a cruel way. Hopefully a lot more video games start to see the importance of telling stories in this way, so the player understands at a deeper level, what they must do. Amazing work, I would love to see more of this.

Before it became known as the Plaguelands, the Eastern Plaguelands was originally called the Eastweald. It was part of the Kingdom of Lordaeron and was a fertile region before it was corrupted by the Scourge during the Third War

I understand the confusion and while Eastweald is often considered a larger region or part of the greater kingdom of Lordaeron, my focus here was specifically on the area that became the Eastern Plaguelands after the Scourge’s corruption. I wanted to emphasize the stark contrast between its former prosperity and its tragic downfall, rather than delve into the broader scope of the region. I will keep in mind the future to be as clear as possible, thanks for your feedback!

I wish there was a cinematic like this every time you had to enter a new zone in WoW. For instance when you get quests like 'Call to Arms: Eastern Plaguelands: quests gives you this cinematic after accepting. It would have a huge impact on how people perceive zones and interact.

It's an awesome video. I started in 2006. Theres no swamp in EPL though. Very little water at all pre-cata.

Thanks! I checked the lore and while there is no actual swamp, there are areas with rotting vegetation, stagnant pools, and necrotic mist, giving it a swampy, decomposing vibe. I wanted to reflect that and maybe I exaggerated in some areas, probably should have done more dry land but wanted to give off the rotting vibe everywhere. Cheers for pointing it out!

Everything AI is a decent starting point but always needs a ton of tweaking afterwards. A ton of tweaking. Still, no more monkey labor. People don't understand the purpose of AI. It's like your phone, it does everything but you know how to use it.

You know, all these AI or Unreal WoW remixes are kind of off putting to me. They're so pretty, glossy and perfect that they actually lose the magic and vibe that WoW gives off. That's my take at least. Photorealism (which these things go for) kills all the wonder that world represents.
