Thanks! that was the first time I camped at Convict, I really liked it there, I usually camp at twin lakes mammoth, which I really like also but there was still about 6 ft of snow there when i went in this video

Nice cutt. Ahh the once epic fishery known as Kirman. It’s dead after the drought years. The dfw would stock thousand of brooks a year that grew to monstrous size because of the abundance of scuds you spoke of, now nothing. Hopefully the dfw will return this lake to its former glory. I suggest a trip to the twenty lakes basin via Saddlebag Lake. The fish are not big but the scenery and experience are well worth the trip. It’s also a place where a grand slam can be had. Tight lines

nicely done, catch/release. try North, South, or Lake Sabrina, or Bishop Creek...west of Bishop Creek Lodge, and Parchers camp. Lot cooler, at 9K feet...

I will definitely have to check that out, I have only fished Intake 2 up there, the other lakes were still frozen when I was out there, I want to go to some backcountry lakes out there also for some Goldens, the lake I want to go to is a 7 mile hike so I gotta be prepared

Nice man! I hiked up to Blue Lake via the Lake Sabrina Basin trail and caught lots of brook trout. Well worth the hike, I recommend it!

I leave my tent behind, I try not to leave behind anything valuable, I usually only take 1 or 2 rods on my trips so that I don’t leave valuable gear behind if I’m not using it, I have never had any problems in the sierras but I have heard of stuff being stolen from campgrounds at lake Dixon in San Diego before

That’s convict creek! Right below convict lake, you can drive to convict lake and it makes right there, runs under a bridge and there’s a couple pools that are usually stocked.

Hey just curious if you've ever used any of the berkley teaserz or other jigs in the eastern sierras? I'm supposed to go up this fall and winter and curious what they like up there. I also like the blue fox vibrax spinners. Any suggestions?

I went last week and I used the nymphs, and minnows again, no luck on the nymphs, as soon as I used the minnows bite was on, and I also used red berkley power worms (the trout ones) and that did very good at intake 2 in bishop, other than that I have used trout teasers before (tube jigs) but I do better with the minnows, micetails, power worms, and nymphs

I put 2 small split shots size 3/0 or sometimes even size bb in shallow water, about 18-24" away from the minnow, and a size 10 owner mosquito hook through the nose of the minnow on izorline xxx 2 lb test line, got a 4 lb rainbow from lake Mamie on that setup last week

Instead of guessing try reading the California Fish and Wildlife Fishing regulation book. They put one out every year. You can start with page 9 article 1.11 on the definition of an artificial lure. 1.11. Artificial Lure. An artificial lure is a man-made lure or fly designed to attract fish. This definition does not include scented or flavored artificial baits.

2 lb test line Izorline XXX. Lately I have also been using 5 lb braid with a 4 lb fluoro leader. But if you don’t want to mess with braid I recommend that Izorline
