On this episode we rap up the beautiful Virginia Lakes and head down off the mountain and fish one of the most scenic places in the sierras, Lake Convict. Not only is it a sight to see while your fishing but you have a chance at catching your personal best rainbow and or brown trout of your life. From Convict to down the street we rap up this episode fishing at Lake Crowley catching some nice brown and rainbow trout.

Lake Convict is 300 feet deep, and one awesome lake! The bigger the lure the bigger the fish as I mentioned in your Crowley Video. A 12 inch Rapala with a jerk behind a trolling motor will attract the big ones, 12+lbs.

where do you find size limit and fish limit for crowley? im getting conflicting info here they dont make it easy damn

For you younger fisherman, Crowley is Barbless only. If you just bend the barb down make sure it won't hang on clothing. Best to cut it off and file down the barb area. If I remember right there are areas that only allow Single Hooks besides Barbless. There are other area's that only allow Artificial Bait and make sure you check to see what size limits are for the area you are fishing, those change at different times of the year. These lakes also are stocked with a Hybrid Rainbow not a Cut Throat. I haven't visited these waters in 10 years so I may be wrong about the Cut Throats there is a Fish Hatchery just north of Crowley I believe. The Hatchery also stocks Golden Trout at higher altitudes in the Sierra Nevada's. You will need to hike above 10k to find the Golden's. Never had much luck here, real pretty but terrible fishing last few years. It's not my technique, elsewhere in the sierras if the lake or stream is decent I find the trout.
