After the first drive of the 2nd quarter Montanas defense only gave up 150 yards and 7 real points, the rest was them just satisfied with letting EWU kill their own clock

EWU's defense struggled bigtime in this game and the Griz had an absolute field day because of it. Eric Barriere is such a good QB, but his defense is constantly throwing water on his fire. EWU would be an elite team with even a good defense.

Never judge a game by the first quarter.. E. Washington looked good at first but their defense was struggling.. I noticed that they had a difficult time applying pressure to Montana's quarterback, but Montana thrived at applying pressure to east Washington's quarterback.. I knew it was a wrap when E.W's quarterback started limping all over the place, showing signs of fatigue and weakness.. you're an easy target when you show weakness.. once they saw he was weak, they thrashed him for the rest of the game, and rightfully so

After rewatching the game a couple times, I think Barriere must have pulled/strained an oblique or something like that. He started grabbing his left side with about 7 minutes left in the third quarter and he hadn't been hit at all for the last couple plays leading up to that. He had a play in there where he did a little jump pass to the back of the endzone and I am thinking that might be when he tweaked something. Regardless, the Griz defense has always been like a shark smelling blood in the water. They hit him so many times after that and he was missing wide open passes all over the place. Awesome game to have been at!
