Very interesting interview. I remember this missing child case. Very sad. I'm impressed with the Sheriff. He didn't seem to jump to conclusions and did a very thorough search. I hope the Sheriff finds him.

@Teresa Grubbs I find it interesting that he included this case in his missing 411 movie and it's fairly obvious that the parents did something or know something... the private detective the family hired has taken them to court, look into it.

@@LivingDeadGirl0702 The parents have not been on board with both of the initial investigators. I think the first one was a former local investigator who resigned from this case; the second was Mr. Klein whom the parents hired. Klein ended up resigning too because he said the parents were deceptive about their missing child. He didn’t get paid for some of his work and some litigation by the parents ensued. I don’t know if the parents have hired another PI since but clearly they don’t want anyone to question their original stories. Klein has since declared that he suspects the parents of foul play. Hmmmm.

@annalisette58973 жыл бұрын
As the other comment says, an attack by an apex predator would have been swift and silent. A friend's bird dog, roughly the same weight as DeOrr, ran behind a large rock and was never seen again. A cougar had gotten the dog. Beyond that, there is no reason for a predator to take the child so far out of the areas searched. When predators attack humans it is usually because they are debilitated and starving due to age, illness or injury. The goal would be a meal, not something to pack miles away. And clothing would not have been eaten. In the Lindy Chamberlain case in Australian, a dingo snatched her baby and years later the baby's jacket was found at a place where dingoes frequented. It is reported that DeOrr was wearing boots too large for him and these would certainly have fallen off had he been grabbed by a predator.

God bless this man, I almost cried at the very end when he started to get choked up. You can see the pain on that mans face that he really cares about this so bad and wants to bring Deorr’s remains out of them woods so bad. I think the theory that baby deorr ran off is the most logical one, and I know people will say oh he couldn’t of got far in oversized cowboy boots but maybe he did, maybe grandpa was not paying attention or fell asleep for a little bit longer in the chair than he thought, maybe a little more time went by. I think it’s possible that baby Deorr wandered off faster than he should of, maybe he was going to look for mom and dad and accidentally went the wrong way because he didn’t know his way around there and there’s just nothing but mountains everywhere and everything looks the same. Maybe he ran off in the wrong direction and that’s why he wasn’t found because everyone assumed he went towards his parents but what if he went a totally different way? Grandpa never really could say he saw him take off and what way he went, so it’s very possible. Maybe once he got a good distance away he encountered an animal and that animal got him, being a lion or beer or anything. God only knows what could of got him and how far away they could of took him. However it’s still a complete mystery as to why the cowboy boots he was supposedly wearing were never found anywhere? That’s the part that is strange to me cuz you think by now they would of been recovered somewhere or at least a piece or part of them somewhere out there. This case is such a mystery but I have faith this man will solve it before he retires, I really hope so
@valleygirl25302 жыл бұрын
Maybe Maybe Maybe this that or the other thing. Listen - stick with the Facts. The one FACT to pay hard attention to is this: The four people who went on that “camping” trip have all told different and conflicting stories about the entire trip including the day little DeOrr went “missing”. Read those Factual recorded/taped/written” Statements and Answers and try to figure out what exactly happened at the campground. Try to make any sense of the 4 different stories given about that trip to a REMOTE area, in the dead of night, on a rocky road, with a 2yr. Old in big boots, a sickly disabled 70-something yrs old relative and a stranger who’s clearly intellectually limited. Would you believe any of those stories?

There was never any evidence that would point to the parents. The child was there and alive. You cannot successfully have 4 people lie about that over such along time. That child wandered off and was taken by an animal. Whenever you camp or hike in the wilderness you should either have a young walking child to young to use a whistle around their neck tethered to you or leave them at home.

I’m pretty sure all of their stories were different, and always changing. Constantly pointing blame and/or hostile and defensive 🤔 so I don’t really think they all held the same lie for that long, they all told different lies for that long. But any parent that takes a young, little baby camping and pawns him off on a grandfather that they are caregiver to need to face some negligence charges at minimum. And the only parents that seem to “lose” their babies to animals without being hysterical or even remotely interested in searching, are themselves, the animal. So yeah, “an animal” did do this.

Having watched a wolf pick up a 40 lb lamb and just take off to the hills with it in Alaska leaving, no trace, no blood and no drag marks Id have to say your position on it not likely being an animal is flawed.

Idaho is also home to some very Large Birds, like Eagles, Condors, Peregrine Falcon and Turkey Vultures. They have been known to pick up small to medium dogs. Is it totally out of the question that they may have picked up a small child? Other children who have gone missing in similar situations have sometimes been found in unusually high elevations, such that would not be possible for a child to climb. Who really knows.

When this theory was mentioned in this case I researched whether any raptor in North America could fly off with a load the size and weight of DeOrr. None of them can. Concerning turkey buzzards, if they have to take off with too big a load, they vomit on the way up. They pack their stomachs and so far as I know, do not fly off with meals. A bottom line in this case is that the child was wearing over-sized cowboy boots which would have fallen off. No item of clothing has ever been found.
@valleygirl25303 жыл бұрын
@@annalisette5897 YES I AGREE. I'm glad you did the research on big birds. Even if another wild animal happened to be there in that particular spot where the 4 adults & 1 toddler were hanging out that afternoon, that toddler would have made some major noise unless he was mute (I've had little ones myself and also taught pre-schoolers for years so I know how they behave -- none were ever silent when things went awry - a classmate reaching for "their" toy caused a shriek at least). DeOrr's camo jacket was later found in the parents' abandoned apartment after they were evicted; LE went in and found a lot of DeOrr's toys and clothes just left there. COLD. They knew he was dead.
@annalisette58973 жыл бұрын
@@valleygirl2530 A camouflage jacket was found. It may not have been the one DeOrr was said to have been wearing. Yes, some things were left behind but I do not know if those items were especially important. My general thoughts on these things are that children today have lots of material possessions, clothes and toys. If I had a child that had a favourite jacket I might get another one in case one got damaged or lost. Or I might get a size larger for when the child grew larger. DeOrr was a boy and he might like camouflage jackets for years. I don't think family thinks he is dead. There were lots of activities on the part of the parents that indicate they did not know what happened. I cannot imagine what they think at this time. I am passionate about wildlife and own a private nature reserve. I have lived in the rural west long enough to remember times when apex predators were killed off in case they had been involved with injuring humans. Then we have Barry Morphew suggesting his missing wife got eaten by a cougar! Thank God no wildlife has been made to pay for DeOrr or Suzanne M.'s disappearances.

Wandered off to where though? I agree that toddlers can wander off quickly. I just can’t imagine a toddler getting over 5 miles in one direction to where a huge search and helicopters with heat signaling can’t find him, in just 2 hours. In the woods especially it’s easy to go in circles, people have gotten lost and said they swore they were going in one direction; and still ended up going in circles. A toddler is going to explore, stop to look at rocks, go in different directions, sit down for a minute. They aren’t taking off in a sprint in one direction and getting that far without being found. That’s why that scenario was crossed off my list almost immediately.

How he went missing so fast with all them there. Could a eagle have picked him up and took him away? Or another animal? I would think he would cry out because they would bite into him to carry him away and that would be painful, he would cry out. Why would you ever leave a little boy alone with an old man? I wouldn't. Even if its my own dad because if he is so old that he falls asleep and doesn't pay attention then why would you do that? And what about this new guy the one that hung out with the old man? A good guy on the case, that's actually a lot. My opinion is, that a mountain lion took him. I hope for the family and the searchers that they can set up wildlife cameras and maybe track the behauvior of some "cats" in the area and find their retreats, thereby solving this case. In another US case, the childs bones were found on a little peak, with steep sides, shadowed by the higher mountains, but with good overlook over the surrounding area. I can’t stand how easily people are willing to persecute the parents with literally zero evidence. It’s so disgusting. My heart is broken for every parent that doesn’t know where their babies are. I can’t even imagine the devastation.

I don’t think the kid was at the campground that’s why no trace he’s was gone before the trip, bring a diaper and a diaper bag and then it appears he was there that simple he’s gone!! Just not at the campground!

If you listened to this interview, the sheriff stated that a bag was found tied in a tree with used diapers.

a lot of suspicion to think this was a coordinated effort to give up the boy to another couple/people. Father drove away at first to try to call 911. drove into town earlier in the day. someone put remains in the reservoir to get the dogs off the trail. etc etc

I don't believe for one moment the parents had anything to do with poor baby Deorrs disappearance and I hope we find out one day.

Essentially he thinks Deorr ran off then and died wherever he got to. Interesting.

The bone thing sounds strange? Experts can’t agree on if it’s human remains or not? I think this is just as fast and mysterious of a disappearance as Summer Wells. Even reminds me of the Dingo incident in Australia. Those parents were thought guilty until years later the clothes were found which proved the parents innocent.

One needs to be so aware of wild life, our door surroundings. Me and one of my pups literally were being followers by a mountain cat, I knew this due to the cats leftovers, me and my pup felt the cats eyes on us, no way to explain this other than this, you know. Then! Went down to the snake River, & a moose was watching us!! All on the snake River!!

I also live in Idaho and had a mountain lion encounter , not once but twice! it was incredibly scary. In this online web sleuthing group I’m in we had a discussion and many people don’t think we have mountain lions in Idaho lol we definitely do! However I don’t think this case involves a mountain lion. They leave traces behind they don’t eat cowboy boots so those would be left behind and picked up by scent dogs. Sure wish Deorr could be found and laid properly to rest. Such a sad case, he’s so adorable!

Has there been anybody that has followed the behavior of certain animals that live or fly around the area??? An animal that can easily snatch up a 20, 30 pound little human… follow that animal back to its nesting area…

My first assumption is animal predation. Many people underestimate the capabilities of Cougars. A fully grown Puma can carry a 113 kg (250 lbs.) buck up into a tree. A 13 kg (30 lbs) child could potentially be gripped in a Mountain Lion's maw without injuring or maiming the child. This is how they carry their young, and a human child's clothing would quite conveniently mimic the loose fur of a Ghost Cat cub. I understand, in cases of animal predation there is usually signs of struggle such as blood or ripped clothing. It just strikes me that such a small and lightweight target would be more of a special case, and easier than most to snatch and run while leaving little to no trace behind. Nay-sayer, "Panthers make a mess at the dinner table, they're not as tidy as a human predator." My reply, "The campsite wasn't the dinner table, it was the grocery mart."

I think that one or all of the adults know what happened to this poor child. Was he even ever at the camp ground? Why would the child be sent back to the grandfather instead of remaining with the parents mostly because a child this age is very active and must be watched at all times, so to send a child back to be watched by an elderly person and I believe was not even asked or aware he was to watch him is beyond me. As for an animal attack, it is possible but you would think that given the distance where everyone says they were someone would have heard something, found some article or proof child had been taken and the fact during the investigation at camp site nobody seen any wildlife leaves me to believe foul play..Would the animal not return looking for more prey??
