Great to see the 08 shunters still runing on the railway. I love the 08"s!

Posh 08632 with its shiny paint and multiple light clusters, helped its life expectancy. Might last longer, if they sort the track out in that yard, some bad joints in the. Great shots as usual Kev. 👍

The old marshalling yard is a pale shadow of what it used to be in the late 1970's/early 1980's when I used to look at the shunting taking place from out of the Traincrew Messroom windows.... Now retired for over 2 years after more than 40 years service, mostly as a Driver... no more shunting for me... One day in the early 1980's I was watching a long freight train entering the marshalling yard from the Romsey direction.... it wasn't going very fast...less than 10mph, when all of a sudden there was an alighty bang and the front of the train just stopped dead.... but the rear of the train kept going... resulting in a pile up that completely blocked Eastleigh.... there were wagons of coal on their sides, some partially on top of others & lots of wagons lock buffered.... what a mess.... the train, which was fully vacuum braked, came from Severn Tunnel Junction yard.... it had lots of empties on the front.... and lots of heavily laden wagons of coal & steel products from South Wales on the rear.... the automatic vacuum brakes fitted to the old (now scrapped) freight wagons were slow to fully apply in comparison to the air brakes fitted to modern freight wagons, which apply almost instantly throughout the train...

Good to see the 66 class in any livery... the power of pink works too. The GE 70 class... as long as the crews like it. Your yard switchers are cute.

How nice to see not just one 08 still busy shunting, but two! In fact three I think, there's another one up in the sidings isn't there. And the pink Freightliner Shed looks great.

If someone can show me a more active yard than that, I'd like to see it. This was a great video.
