I got this T59/V 2 years ago. It's an incredible tone machine ! I just tried it for curiosity, and was blown out, and had to buy it. It is far better tone than any Gibs ES that I tried, for half the price. One may be surprised by the aging: it is perfectly done and looks like you've played it everyday since 1959. When you get it in your hands, on your stomach, it feels warm. Just incredible. You'll play blues, rock, jazz with THE TONE.

This might be my dream guitar its so versatile jazzy tones blues tones flat out rock tones and that finish is amazing just a beautiful guitar. I could see myself selling 2 or 3 of my guitars to buy this. I have a Epiphone Sheraton which I love but this is next level. This is more a pro players guitar. Not sure i can justify it but man what a sweet guitar

@@dociledeer3818 I love it. Like REALLY love it. It does everything I want a duel humbucker guitar to do from mostly clean jazzy tones to classic rock and even some heavier Zeppelin style stuff. Theres a lot of versatility in the tone and volume knobs. I cant imagine ever getting rid of it. Its my second eastman in this antique finish and they're so incredible feeling. Ive played a few guitars from the 60s and this genuinely feels like its over 40 years old. The finish is understandably fragile so if you are thinking of gigging with it I would be cautious. Enjoy it

AS an amatuer maker, eastman guitar that I've had my hands on are closer to individual craftsmanship than Gibson guitars. From time to time, they need a little help to finish fretwork, but they have personality and signs that humans worked on them (and the eastman factory looks like people working on instruments at a relaxed pace - 'craftspeople', not unskilled workers with a dandy display here or there (like the abs binding scraper lady at gibson - she's a treat). I've had more than 100 guitars, I've made 8 and hope to make 80 more. I think the difference in price between an es335 and something like shown here or the yamaha SA 2200 is just servicing gibson's debt and covering all of their marketing expense. A used SA2200 yamaha is a real pearl, too. (I've had two eastman AR910CEs - still have one of the two in natural - sold the other to a guy who has an L-5 (the one I kept is better than the one I sold. The one I sold, he said "it kills my L-5, it's not close). i.imgur.com/OAPI9jj.jpg i.imgur.com/lcICkUY.jpg (the average that I paid for the two 10CEs was $1500 used. They are incredible, and the workmanship is bumping up against what you'd expect from collings, but more natural and less CNC kind of vibe. The wood selection, including the top spruce, is unreal).

Because they’re too bright and the neck feels too small and the edges are not rounded of as much as on standard Gibson.
@jeanm.8344
@jeanm.8344 3 ай бұрын
@@zwip778It takes less than half an hour to round the binding a bit (or a lot) more, if you feel it's necessary. Plus you have two tone controls if you find it too bright. On the contrary there is nothing you can do if you want to add some brightness to the dark sound of your Gibson.

I am totally blind, so I truly appreciate it when you go into the details of the design of what you’re playing as far as specifications as well as when you talk about the colors on the amps, if you wouldn’t mind When you’re doing your videos as I watch you a lot, but if you could ever talk about your signal chain a little more when you’re playing, I would love to know as you have encouraged me in buying a lot of gear lol including this guitar. I just got this guitar in left handed a month ago, and I have the same “Dude” OD pedal. I hear the same thing here as on my guitar and pedal: the OD sounds somewhat buzzy, as opposed to smooth. I am more after the smooth OD tones. I am wondering if a different pedal might have a result more to my liking, or might I need to swap out the pickups? The clean tones are outstanding in the guitar, however.
@domhoward6105
@domhoward6105 3 жыл бұрын
Maybe try a more balanced gain pedal with a bit less character and/or experiment with rolling of the tone? Often even rolling off high end on the guitar can help create more of a smoother overdrive sound, by emphasising gain on the high mids. You should check out the DOD looking glass and Morgan OD, they both help avoid this problem

Great playing. The guitar needs a hog neck with rosewood fretboard. It's lacking mids, way to bright and chirpy without the mids to give it some authority.

I agree. I'd have bought one already if not for the lack of some mahogany like a real 335. I've owned a couple Eastmans they are cool guitars and I'd love one of these. But While it sounds nice, it is exactly as you described. The John Connor guy mocking you is just a troll. It's a reasonable observation.

@@urbaniteproductions.4391 You can't add to the EQ what's not there in the first place. Boosting mids is really just cutting highs and lows, it's not filling out the EQ at all and would just sound like ass not make a fuller sound.

Don't get me wrong, this guitar doesn't sound bad. But it is a bit anemic and could sound so much better with a little natural wood warmth from some mahogany added to it, like the 335/345 it is based on.

RootsRockRebel : you haven't checked resale prices lately have you....modern Gibsons aren't selling for big bucks anymore because they are pretty much shit. I own a Gibson les paul, resale price is half of what it cost. New guitar and had to replace the tuners (etune batteru rattled in the housing driving me nuts and tuning issues) and replaced the circuit board with hard wired pots (board was broken, could't get a replacement anywhere). Fret ends have yet to be dressed and the nut has to be cut down. Nut sides I have filed down so not to cut my hands when fretting open chords, guitar has grounding problems and crackles like crazy even with the new electronics...probably faulty pickup. I still like the guitar but it is NOT a good guitar. Resale value reflects these problems....

@@SRT54 whilst I'd never let resale value dictate which instruments I buy, knowing that certain instruments are regarded as well made, sound great and are highly sought after certainly makes buying them easier, especially when you're talking about a Chinese made instrument. @@RootsRockRebel "chinese trash " ? Are serious, did you really listen to that demo ? I have that Eastman T59, I chose it because of the tone it gives. I tried hard Gibson ES335, not one could match the quality of this Eastman, tone, luthery and finish, despite twice the price. If you're honest musician you should try this Eastman. By the way, I also sold my Gibson LP Standard 2011, losing 20% of its value, replaced by a Tokai LS1000 with the money from that sale: that Tokai compares to a Gibson Custom Shop 59 reissue 3 times more expensive. My ears, eyes , and fingers drive my choices, not the brand nor the resale value.
