Bravo! Very interesting and informative! The description lacks the names of the works. And the authors of the arrangements. And this is very interesting!

Baylor did Holst better.

The Eastman Wind Ensemble invented the general concept of the modern wind ensemble at Eastman in 1952, under the baton of Frederick Fennel. Under his leadership the group became known as the pioneering force in the symphonic wind band movement in the United States and abroad. They paved the way for Baylor and every other wind band

Seriously doubt it. Further, no one in Baylor’s program could get into Eastman, let alone win an audition into the Wind Ensemble😂. Besides, the Great Donald Hunsberger chose to conduct Eastman’s Wind Ensemble, not Baylor’s because they’re BETTER! Here’s a link to refresh your memory of whom performed it better lol. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpypgmNpab-XZ5Isi=CRZnujtv5-6L_CDe

Everybody at Eastman can play circles around the vast vast majority of players at Baylor even in 1998. There is substantially better clarity and tone in this performance. Please develop some ears. The main positive thing I can say about the Baylor performance is that it was guest conducted by H. Robert Reynolds - but even he can only do so much with those players.
