I use a windshield reflector for cars as a ground pad for my sleep system. It barely ways an ounce or two, offers way more puncture resistance than any sheet and it reflects heat back up to your body. On top of that, you can use them as a sit pad or as a table cloth on the ground while having chow. Best $5-$10 one can spend. I LOVE Tyvek for ground cloths though (shelter-wise). That's a lot of tent/tarp for the money. That's a great value actually. Don't see it on their site yet though. In Puerto Rico, they build a shelter that is like a teepee, but what happens is that as the wind blows harder (and I'm talking hurricane grade winds), the shelter actually hunkers down and takes advantage of that negative air pressure inside the shelter.

Excellent breakdown of their larger non tipi style shelter that should be out for folks and their 2024 seasons. I have been looking at the Seek Outside Silex and Guardian with stove jack shelters so that I have something for the backcountry instead of my Coleman 4 man tent 🏕️.

This tent is going to be a minimum of 500 dollars and it isn't seem sealed. That's the most garbage thing I've ever heard. Spare me the bullshit " because of weight ". An oz would seal the whole thing. I was really interested until that point. I don't begrudge anyone making money, but that's not a good look to me. I'm sure plenty won't care, but you're not going to explain away why a $500-600 couldn't do what a $150 amazon special does. Also a bad look on the channel not to mention they could've done better in that department. Moving forward I'll just assume you won't mention negatives for this brand, which makes watching pointless.

Seek will seal it if you choose, or you can seal yourself as each shelter comes with a tube of seal. I"ve got four of their shelters and they're all sealed and have been running them for almost a decade. Love'm.

FYI... you seal the "seam" not seem. That aside, they can "seam seal" it for you or as he states, you can "seam seal" it yourself. It's an option and some people don't need it. As he mentioned, if you're really counting ounces and it isn't going to rain, you don't need it. It really looks like you're just looking for something to diss on and all you could come up with is seam seal. It really is a bad look for you and makes your comments pointless.

@sturoland9464 I couldn't care less what mental gymnastics you have to do to tell yourself that this $500 piece of material doesn't need to be waterproof when it's entire function is to protect you from the elements. Especially when an amazon special just does it and works. I've had my hot tent set up for 3 weeks in my yard. It's since snowed 3 times and rained half a dozen. Dry as a bone, the tent is double the size and cost me a couple hundred less. They rely on people who can't think beyond the end of their nose that wet their pants at the idea of having a "premium" product. As we can see, there is no short supply of those cash cattle. And you can spare yourself the obligatory " you ARe juSt poOr" rebuttal. I have literally thousands of dollars in outdoor/camping/backpacking/ kayaking equipment. Much of which is name brand and not cheap, but they earned my dollar by providing whatever service/tool better than the budget options. That just doesn't apply here because not only is it not doing anything better, but it's at a disadvantage out of the gate. And anyone who sides with the mindset of " nah, I don't need a shelter that won't leak when it's imperative I stay dry, instead i chose to save 0.05 oz and see what happens " is a god damn joke lmao.

@sturoland9464 As well as the fact you're obsessing over an autocorrect error vs the point of what should be expected from a high dollar product, tells me someone is personally offended and emotionally invested in a strangers comment on KZbin, not only sad, but telling. You're one of the chumps with more cents than sense, aren't you?. They got you good now, you gotta fight, so you don't look like a gullible toolbag lol. Don't worry, maybe they'll see one of their peons fighting for them and they'll sell you a waterproof product next time, fingers crossed for you, buddy.

@@Alexander-ji1hh you're obviously an expert in the field of tent making and I'm sure you understand every aspect involved. I'm sure you understand that this tent is made by a family owned US company using US made materials paying livable wages to their employees and who fully stand behind their product. If you prefer to use your hard earned money supporting Amazon specials that are made overseas then knock yourself out. Giving your money to a knock off Chinese company paying employees pennies on the hour and supporting Amazon is certainly your right. Raging on good companies because they don't meet your exceptionally high standards of tent making just seems a bit, well, odd. As an expert, you should just make one yourself and see how it compares. All of this finger pounding over seam seal? Uhm.. ok. We are all impressed by your knowledge and experience garnered in your three week yard test! I follow this channel and watch these videos because they help showcase companies like Seek Outside. Maybe you just need a hug... Peace. Out here....
