What happened in past was due to majority people being naive( local and non local) and some clever people took advantage like British took advantage of Indians, and if that happened it doesn't mean everyone was and is same. And regarding increase of population, we know very well, who is responsible for rapid population increase. And the population in these areas has not increased due to biological factor rather most communities come and directly reside here leading to over population and it might be due to safety concerns. Genuine residents have maximum 2 children which should not be a reason for over population. I understand people demanding ILP But what about the safety of genuine nationals in the state? It doesn't ensure safety as we have witnessed often. Non locals cannot buy lands here, that's the biggest advantage you have, But in my personal opinion it will make development slow in the state. That's fine. Meghalaya is beautiful as it is. But see one thing there are localities in shillong where non locals reside and they obey the rule made by DorbarShnong and those localities are clean and not over populated. But confining "a few" areas and tagging them with names like dirty because of non locals is not right. It looks and is dirty because of over population. And what is you thought about people residing here before 1972, who have been the part of the state before the formation, what about their children and grand children? Don't they have the right to live with a peaceful mind? And I request you and everyone, don't put this thoughts in your children, otherwise they will really hate non locals. Humanity is the biggest gift and support you can give to anyone.
