Hey Chris, Nice to see the processor running again. We have a 12 way wedge too and yes it does make more debris compared to a 6 or 8 way wedge but the firewood is fantastic. You may need to play around with the height of wedge to find a sweet spot to reduce the amount of debris, but regardless in our book it’s worth it. Plus if you ever decide to run a kiln the debris is great to to burn to dry other firewood in the middle of winter when you run out of dry wood. 👍

Might be a way to get rid of the trash and a pile of old pallets. A dad might have a trailer he could leave in your yard for a week and you could fill it up. When I was teaching we scrounged anything that would burn for the homecoming pep rally. Stay safe - Dud

I noticed that when you put that really big log through, you were grabbing the large chunks and throwing them back in to re-split. That's the same way I do it. If I can't grab them, then I run them through later. If I have someone operating the splitter for me, it goes really quick. And yes, the DEF is just distilled water and concentrated pee. Yum! Hi Chris, Looks like that 12 way wedge might be more trouble than it is worth if it creates so much waste. Looks like you are making great progress on your firewood inventory for next year. If you are planning on bagging kindling for sale, a good source of free bags are the feed stores. Around here, the feed stores accept feed bags for recycling. They will gladly give the used bags to anyone that wants them. Most tend to be from either the 40 or 50 pound chicken or all stock feed bags and will hold quite a bit of kindling.

Tim from Canada suggestions for the guy in the wood yard / if you had A spare trailer or if you made a box out of your pallets and put four walls on it with your plywood you could put this underneath your cookie bin or if you had a better way of containing your cookies from your processor this way you would not have to keep bending down and picking them up as you were cutting them off your wood pile processor

Wondering if you could talk on one of your videos about the seasonal / yearly rotation you have. For example, in the winter you concentrate on selling and deliveries, spring is slow, ramp up splitting in the summer when the photography allows it, the fall is the final splitting time and then reload the yard with piles of wood to split. Happy stacking!!

I prefer spring and fall mself especially for cutting firewood. Summer is too hot to cut firewood here in Cananda. Hahaha i know everyone thinks we live in igloos but its genereally 85 degrees all summer here. Sometimes warmer sometimes cooler. Like its September 11th and was still 86 degrees yesterday and about 80 today.. I like to cut in 60 to 70 degree weather which spring and fall and are usually in that range.

Hello, i have a question. In Norway we obviously burn alot of firewood and almost all the big firewood firms sell them by the "big bag". Which is 1500 Liters. I know, different continent, different systems. But when i watch you stack like you do, i feel like you spend so much time doing something thats maybe not nessecary? They have 1 pallet with a big bag wrapped around 4 temporary poles from each side of the pallet to hold the bag open. And they put the conveyor so the firewood goes straight from the wood processor into the big bag. Obviously it will go in in different orientations, but it will dry like that aswell. The bag gets wrapped up, and a fork lift just puts the pallet with the big bag away, and a new pallet is placed under. When delivering, they just put the pallet on peoples driveway and people can choose to keep the pallet, or to give it back to you. My English is weak, but my point is this way saves a few steps with the stacking, and delivery dumping. Its just straight from processor into big 1500 liter bag, zip it up leave it for drying for however long nessecary, and drive it where its going.
@guly2 жыл бұрын
I forget to mention i watch alot og your videos,and i enjoy them. And paradoxically i enjoy your stacking videos the most, even tho i just suggested something that would exclude the stacking 👍🏼

@@InTheWoodyard got it. Well you sure are strong with one hell of a work ethic. I hope you can keep doing what you enjoy for a long time. And the math on the big bags seemed like a big cost i agree.
