Like the speed of your instructions straight to the point. Also the marker on the table to show desired tip movement was excellent teaching.

Great Tutorial! I’m still learning on my 180 and this definitely helped. Melted my wire on my nozzle a couple times, and trying to get the speed right with a comfortable technique 😐

@5:16 should be liters per minute. There are 28.3 liters in a cubic foot. 1 Lpm is 60 liters per hour which is slightly more than 2 cubic feet per hour. You can see on the gauge that LPM is about half of Cubic feet per hour.

I'm a mechanical engineer, not much experience yet (I graduated a few years ago) working in a manufacturing facility now. But, I've talked to people (operations managers and such) that have said that when it comes to structure/strength that welds like this are "too cold" and eventually break/ crack. That these welds should be laying down much smoother than what this video shows. How true is this??

What does Vince think of the mig 180 and on my manual it says it goes up to 21 volts and on the machine it says 26 volts is it a misprint on the manual?

The machine goes up to 26 volts - anything else is a misprint. The MIG 180 is one of our favorite welders it can handle _just about_ everything in the automotive world.

@@eastwoodco it’s a good welder I purchased it last year and gave it 5 stars , I’m retiring ,insulated and sheet rocked my garage added a swamp cooler and a gas heater on the ceiling put a door from the house to the garage since it’s attached now running 220v , building a 93 XJ now then a 69 SS Chevelle and the Eastwood 180 is my mig for the projects

Sorry, we don't understand the question, can you rephrase?

What is sad is they won’t answer a simple question like if you’re welding a 16 gauge metal with a Eastwood MiG 140 30 gauge wire with 25/75 argon , what is the wire speed and heat settings. The chart on the door doesn’t say and they don’t know.

There are settings for 17 and 14 gauge metal so we can split the difference and use that as a starting point for 16 gauge. With that in mind we suggest starting at 17.0 Volts/196 Inches per minute. (You pasted this comment on 10 videos, we respond daily to comments, there's no need for that)
