If you want to absolutely max this system out, the highest performance CPU this barebones system can handle is the Ryzen 7 5700X (as you are limited to a 65w TDP for this platform) and the RX 6650XT Fighter from PowerCooler if you want to keep it all AMD, this is the largest card that fits with the best performance available with this 500w PSU. If you want the absolute best performance with this system and don’t care about keeping it all AMD, the Zotac 4060 Solo is the highest card that will fit in the system. Also, just one note, this system is meant to run maximum ram speeds of 3200mhz but that is the “official” spec. You may be able to run higher speeds, but I have not tried doing so. (I did more research on this than I care to admit and can 100% confirm this as fact.

Bro if I went with your suggestion,do you think this pic can run mixing and mastering music programs smoothly? I use a ton of heavy vst’s.I don’t care about gaming at all..
@_B.C_7 ай бұрын
@@MiaaDavisfor a DAW pc you want as much ram as you can get. This barebones system can use up to 128 gigs. So it’s would make a nice little DAW box. I would opt for the intel barebones version and use an i3 12100 cpu instead because this cpu uses Vega graphics which is at end of life for amd. But before you build a DAW pc, take a look at a company called GPU Audio. They debuted at NAMM last year and they figured out how to run vsts on the gpu instead of cpu.

AM4 has been good to me but 30 years of experience says that planning a build around a future upgrade isn't a great idea. Future proofing is a myth and you should just build whatever will get you through the next couple of years as cheaply as possible. The 4600G is basically a 3600 with a neutered cache and you'd be better off with a used 3600. You can get a dGPU that matches the Vega iGPU for around $30 these days. You'd still probably end up being $10-20 cheaper than the 4600G.
@Liminal.Headspace7 ай бұрын
You can absolutely run a Ryzen 9 in this, all you have to do is clock down the CPU and under volt it slightly. A cheap video adapter GPU is recommended to set it up. For multi threaded programs it's a better choice.

Hello, first time viewer here. Enjoyed your video, felt it wasn't really a gaming build to begin with. Which isnt a bad thing not everyone games and this is a nice cheap build. With a 6600 im sure the gaming performance will be many times greater. I look forward to that video.

@@SkellyWaggs "I think it's better to use the stock one, it's not a bad PSU. Whether it has enough power or not depends on the GPU you are using. Also, if you're adding the GPU right away, you can go with a better CPU, like Ryzen 5 5600 or 5500. They don't have an iGPU, but they will work better with your dedicated GPU.

4:25 Absolutely shocking, there's basically no air flow, I'd rather spend a couple extra bucks on a bigger case than cook my CPU like that, they could have easily designed this so that the motherboard sits on tip of the power supply, so the fan faces outwards.

So the PSU fan is pretty much touching the CPU fans and both of them are pulling, I wonder what the CPU temps are. Also if you add GPU to that case it will probably have thermal issues as the case doesn't have any stands (or ventilation in bottom?). I would just buy used.
