i3-12100f + RX 6600 is still the king of New Budget builds. If you go used, a Ryzen 5000-series CPU and RTX 2000-Series or AMD RX 5000-series GPU can be done but you really have to look around. I owned both parts except it was the 6600XT and was pleasantly surprised. I later upgraded my parts to match my high refresh 1440p monitor, but my more expensive upgrade PC parts are also way louder and hotter. Nothing beat the efficiency and quietness of the i3-12100f+RX 6600(XT).

I'm building better spec rigs and asking less for them. Shouldn't be buying a gaming PC with less than 1.5GB storage or only 16GB RAM in 2024 unless it is a bottom budget rig. It should have at least half a TB of decent NVMe storage, not a crappy KingFast SATA SSD. QC has gone to shit and I'd rather have a mining used 3060 that checks out and has been properly refurbished than any current gen budget GPU. I got an almost DOA 6600 a couple years ago. It ran. It played games. There was no artifacting. But it was performing like a 1650 when it should have been performing more like a 1080, in terms of rasterization performance. I sent it back to Amazon and bought one from a different Mfg and got a good one. I have also gotten DOA RAM and storage lately, several times. I got a DOA B550 MSI board last year. I basically won't buy budget storage or RAM from anyone but Teamgroup or Samsung (I'll put green stick RAM in a build because I know it performs the same) at this point. SP is dead to me. There are some OK HP branded drives out there, made by a third party. But they have a US RMA address and generally review OK. One very important thing to consider when buying parts is whether or not they have a US based RMA facility. This is why SP is dead to me. Would have cost $30-40 to ship a 2.5" SSD to them in Taiwan. 'Don't have to build it yourself' is a massive negative to an experienced builder. They just throw parts together. I spend hours benchmark and stress testing a build. Lastly, you are almost certainly talking about a third party sale on the Newegg platform, which is not the same thing.

There are MORE people that play PC games that don't want to build a PC, but easily have $650. Those are who I'm talking to. Hey guys just want to say I love your videos you're very informative very entertaining I use them to teach the kids at the hospital how to build PCS all the time. However just a heads up that SSD that you got from Amazon. I bought a ton of their m.2 drives in the past and I have to be honest with you all but one survived. I've used them in two different Nas PCS two different gaming PCs. And one home theater PC and the only hard drive that has survived is the one that's currently running my Plex Nas. Every other drive has failed. So buyer beware from that company

I want to see you guys show us 'step by step' what happens when one of your new components is DOA. QC in the industry is worse now than it has ever been and I've gotten a few DOA new parts over the past couple of years. There has never been a worse time for a complete novice to be building their first PC. At least not in the 3 decades since I built my first PC. You can save $10-15 on your PSU with a Thermaltake Smart 500W over the cheap MSI one they got paid to shill, which will be no better. I mined on a couple of Smart series PSUs for almost 2 years. The difference between a Bronze and White rated PSU should be of zero concern to someone building a gaming PC. That's a M.2 standoff, not a 'M.2 Riser'. It isn't a GPU. You should always remove the CPU protector before installing the CPU. They aren't made to super high standards and could affect the ability of the CPU to sit flush in the socket as you are loading it up. And then you're gonna have bent socket pins. IDC what intel says. They're saying it is OK for a CPU to run at 95C constantly which is ludicrous. I've heard them say a lot over the past 30 years that is complete BS. Don't buy no-name drives. Pay the extra $10 for a reliable budget drive from Teamgroup.
@Jwalker76
@Jwalker76 6 ай бұрын
Actually the MSI model PSU in this video is far better than a thermaltake smart 80+ white PSU. In fact telling people to buy a thermaltake smart is bad advice. They are a bad PSU and best avoided. Also companies don't pay toasty bros to use their parts. They may send free parts to some KZbinrs but chances are toasty bros bought those PSUs in bulk as they build their own prebuilt PCs.

I love these step by step videos. Something about watching the process and then seeing it finished is so amazing to me. Keep up the great videos guys.
