Mrs. Doc here: Been a while since I've made this dessert. I have made a strawberry and a cherry flavored one of these. I think both times it was for a party. It was a huge hit both times. If anyone here tries this recipe, I guarantee they will not be disappointed and neither will anyone else trying it.

Similar to what we use to make for picnics or reunions. Only we layered the baking dish with first angel food cake and then the strawberries and poured half of jello mix on top and then repeated and topped with the cool whip. Refrigerator until jello has settled. Yum yum yum.

You got my attention. I just made a strawberry dessert (shortcake ish). The difference I used a 8oz block cream cheese & sweet condensed milk with strawberry syrup to make color pink. Then fold cool whip. Your dish and the one I made look exactly the same. I mean, exactly, I had to pause your video to look. Forr strawberries, I sugar over them to sit. When they are on top of cool whip they look so shinny and glossy I cut slices. I made box angel food cake you get more that way 2 - 9" pans. Out of box or bakery the same cake I can't tell a difference. Now I'm going to try your way. The one I made my wife said. You didn't make this! Even though she watched me. She asked what I did as she wrote it down. Before making it I was thinking strawberries & cream. Jello never came to me. And now I want to make it. Thank you for sharing. I honestly believe it doesn't matter who makes strawberry shortcake dessert it's always going to be good.

I never use Cool Whip. I put the jello in the refrigerator to gel. Take it out when set and whip in 1 pint of whipping cream with the jello.

I make a Jello angel food cake dessert but I do it differently than what you do I take and make two large boxes of strawberry jello I add the hot water that goes to it then for the cold I had frozen strawberries that's been cut up into small pieces let it not set all the way let it set words almost set but not hard then you take and put some in the bottom of a 9x13 or a bigger pan cover a little bit on the bottom take an angel food cake or a pound cake cut it in squares or just cut it like if he's in a loaf cut it across lay it on top of the jello then add another layer of jello and strawberries then put another layer until you come to the top where you end up with a layer of jello on the top let it sit firmly then before you get ready to serve it frosted with Cool whip

If you ever had to make the Whipping cream by hand its easier if you place the bowl of heavy cream in a bowl of ice and it whips much faster by hand.
