This series is so helpful! Thank you so much for putting in the time to do this! It's a great service to the ham community! I have direwolf set up with aprsis32 on my Windows laptop now and I think I am going to go to a digi soon. I'm running a older Dell laptop with windows 11 and a digirig lite into a yaesu ft2980r with a good antenna up 20-25 feet above local terrain. I would igate as well but there is an igate about 3 miles from my home. The problem is, it is running a pretty compromised antenna and I can't make it in with my yaesu ft2d. A digipeater at my house will solve that problem as well as help the local coverage quite a bit I believe. I live in a fairly rural area between the local towns. 73 and thanks again! KE8VIK

I am glad I could help. When everyone has the knowledge to pitch in, it helps the community as a whole, so I'm glad to get more people on the air with dire wolf.

Easy to follow instructions with a nice blog post on your site for additional information. What more can you ask for! I have a few I-Gates in my area already. I need to do some research on the APRS network and see if it would be of benefit (or harmful) to add an additional I-Gate. Thanks!

APRS.fi has a neat feature where you can see the coverage area of specific stations in your area. I can't remember exactly how to get there but it will map it visually after they've been active for a while.

You videos are incredibly helpful. Thank you. Two questions. Is there a parameter in direwolf to gate position packets directly to APRS- IS? And visually see in RAW data that it infact has been gated? Do you know of documentation that covers meaning of APRS.fi RAW data? Thanks, Ken WB7QYB

Glad the videos could be helpful. You can in fact gate position packets straight to APRS-FI. The User-Guide on the GitHub page provides the config option for this. I'm afraid KZbin will remove my comment if I put it here. To see the raw data, you need an account on Aprs.fi. You can find your station there, and select "view raw".

Hi Billy, everything is great until I see in PinPoint and aprs.fi that my position is one km from what I put in Lat and Long in the Direwolf configuration file. Has it happened to you? Thank you.

Not me personally, but I'd recheck that lat/lon format. It's a little weird.

Any idea how to address which cm108 device you want to ptt from on windows. When multiple are attached it just chooses one and sadly it’s not the correct one

Sadly, this is a problem that needs solves across the board in linux too. Besides adjusting the ADEVICE numbers for the sound card, or looking at the device manager for a PTT COM port, it's kind of a tossup every reboot. You should be able to select the soundcard with ADEVICE NUM1 NUM2.

The audio is out of sync with the video.

Thanks, I'll take a closer look next time to fix it before it goes up. I've got one I recorded at the same time coming out today so it may be the same way.
