Both Hatta and Li were there as Harf of Case 3 as well.
And now Hatta & Li are here as Harf of light Verb as well.
At both places Hatta = until & Li = for
So it's simple..
If Hatta or Li is followed by ism then that ism goes into Case3
And if Hatta and ism is not followed by an ism, then it will show it's effect on a verb in the sentence.
-------
Hatta = until
Allah forgives until his slave seeks forgiveness
= Yaghfiru Allahu hatta yastaghfara ãbduhu
= يَغفِرُ اللهُ حَتّىٰ اِستَغفِرَ عَبدُهُ
Yaghfiru = he forgives
Ghafartu
Ghafarta
Ghafarti
Ghafara
Ghafarat
Aghfiru
Taghfiru
Taghfireena
Yaghfiru
Taghfiru
Allahu = word Allah (in case 1 becuase its doer of Yaghfiru)
Hatta = until (Harf of light verb)
Yastaghfara = he seeks forgiveness (light verb.. yastaghfaru became yastaghfara)
Ãbduhu = his slave
-------
I know you wouldn't understand yastaghfaru?
Why is this verb so long?
What are it's root letters?
Actually I wanted to introduce a new topic called Sarf.
We will study sarf soon after harf.
In sarf we will study how adding a few letters in the verb effects it's inner meaning.
Like yaghfiru = يَغفِرُ = he forgives. Yastaghfaru = يَستَغفَرُ = he seeks forgiveness.
So you see we added ت & س in between yaghfiru and it added the inner meaning of "to seek forgiveness"
There are 8 such ways in which a combination of letters can be added inside the verb to give an inner meaning to the verb.
The study of these added letters inside the verb is called Sarf.
We will study this in details after harf.
Note : there is nothing like Sarf in English language. And Sarf is actually what makes Arabic a truly unique language.
It will be mostly memorization
We will study this soon inn shaa Allah.
---------
Li = for / because
This for followed by a verb generally means because, but even if you translate it as for, it will still make sense.
I did it because I want it
= Faãltuhu Li ashaáahu
= فعلتُهُ لِاَشاءَهُ
Faãltu = I did
Faãltuhu = I did it
Li = for /because
Ashaáu = I want
Ashaáuhu = I want it
Ashaáahu = I want it (light verb due to Li)

Harf will be finished in 4-5 lessons. Weak verb has 7 topics. Sarf has 8+6 topics, but it will be finished in about 10 lessons. So it will go to about 80 lessons.
