easy autodesk sketchbook tutorial (beginners)

for today's video, i will do a tutorial on how i use autodesk sketchbook. this tutorial is perfect for begginers to learn the basics and would not be overwhelmed on the process of making it 💕

[reminder: 1.) tracing is okay for practicing in digital art, to get used to drawing poses, expressions, shapes, etc. BUT tracing IS NOT OKAY when you trace over someone else's work without their permission and claim it as your own. 2.) using pictures from the internet to use as references in practicing digital art or drawing is okay, BUT claiming them as your own, and selling and making commercial/market profit out of them is not okay.]

Well,tracing is ok when youre doing it for practice ONLY but when you make it public without the permission of who made the photo you traced,it's a crime.

@@syahmihawari2264 So you're gonna totally ignore the fact that the photographer who took the picture spent hundreds of hours on gaining experience (which can never be bought with money and gotten quickly) , learning how to take photographs at a professional level, figuring out which camera will take the best photos, figuring out in which posture and angle he should take Jennie's picture and how he should edit it, and then she came just doodling over his finished product but making it seem that she did it all by herself ,making others think that she spent all those hours drawing from her "imagination" and perfectly drawing the face and other body parts as if she is a master at drawing anatomy. don't know if you even understand English or not,but I never said that drawing Jennie's face is a crime. And you're acting as if all she did was draw Jennie's face and while forgetting the fact that she took someone else's art (or are you going to say that photography isn't an art?) and DIRECTLY copied it ,making her able to skip ALL the difficulties an artist faces while sketching a portrait. If she drew the face by herself I wouldn't have a single problem.And I can SWEAR that if she did that the portrait wouldnt be as good as it is now.Seriously,the way you misunderstood my comment thinking that I said drawing Jennie's face is a crime (while it's not ) when I said tracing is a crime seriously makes me question many things about you.Anyways,if you still think that tracing isn't a crime ,then insist you search on Google "why tracing is illegal" .And if you STILL think tracing isn't a crime, then I have nothing to say.

@@justrey1244 You should just make a DIY stylus, that's how I've been doing so far ( with aluminum sheets cover the rubber of a pencil or a flat surface). I hope to get the iPad pro in the future because on my iPhone, it's just too painful

There’s one thing I hate which is the eraser shortcut like you have to click the little thing at the bottom then click the eraser like why didn’t you just put the shortcut on the edge of the screen? I know there’s a double tap shortcut but it’s not effective at all and I just feel like throwing my phone out of a window

KATH you can put down a photo, put another layer and trace it over exactly. it doesnt matter if its digital. i draw on paper then take a photo and trace over my drawing then add color. its an effective way to learn. but tracing directly over photos is not an art style.

I used to be one of those artist that hate tracing coz im a free drawer( idk if its called like that haha, i dont trace even im a beginner, i dont like ref too) But now I learned that there are different types of artist Tracing is one of those types It is called vector art So RESPECT Its hard to do coz i cant trace Haha

Idk if u can do it using that app but for most apps you can just lower the opacity of the original image so you don't have to keep hiding the image to see your lines

Maria Ntomalis just click on the layers button above the picture and on your right you will find that picture in a smaller size along with your other layers, press on the picture and you will get an option “opacity” just adjust that and you’re done.😋

@@poppingcandy Two things. One, you can DIY a stylus pen (it’s super easy, I can’t afford a good stylus, so I DIY’d one). Two, if your lines are shaky, put predictive stroke (that wavy line next to perspective I think) on and your line changes to not shaky.

Some people call this "tracing" But in fact, these types of art can teach you many things cuz ur not directly tracing EVERYTHING Vector Art (this art style) has taught me how to make good hair clumps, clothing design, eye and face structures and much more!

I would argue if it's really helpful to improve your art skills. You can use references and they're really helpful to improve but tracing doesn't really do much, anyone can trace, that doesn't require skill either. You're free to trace obviously but if you want to really improve try using references instead

Helps your line work at the very least and learning patience. If you're using it to learn shading and values that's even more of a positive. Maybe if people try to see the shapes that make up what they trace rather than purely going over the obvious outlines. So many things you can learn if you put the right spin to it. And at the end of the day if it brings you pleasure then keep doing you is what I say. It's not about the end product, but instead the journey you take to get there.

Looks super cool. I started digital art drawing recently using references free hand. I practice more that way but when I use this method of tracing and coloring I am amazed. I'm gonna take my physical sketches from my book and improve them with a trace and fill digitally . Keep creating and enjoying your art everyone. depends on the device your using to draw, if its an apple product then you will have to buy an apple pencil, if not then any stylus from amazon or technology shop will do perfectly fine. I use an iPad Pro and Huion graphics tablet and the stylus from the graphics tablet does not work on any Apple technology I own and works on any non-apple technology.

Layers are your best friends everyone! Use them, manipulate them by clicking on the layer. Change the opacity, copy it, delete it, change the saturation. I love to copy a layer then make one invisible and locked, then I can go crazy with my duplicate and not worry if I make a complete cluster fuck of things like I so often do.

I always do my drawings and other arts from tracing photos, and its quite hard. People who say its not better try it themselves. And also, I only contradict with people who trace other people's arts. Tracing photo reference is still legit tho for me, especially for beginners who didn't have much proper tools (eg. Pentab).
