Bonnie, thank you so much for this tutorial. I am 86 years old and I need to tell you that there is not a stress-buster pill in the world to compare to your voice and this new granny square crochet method. Both are so very calming. My charity is so benefiting with my lapghans as a result of this method. I’m like the energizer bunny, keep on crocheting. Once again, thank you. Be well and be safe.

Bonnie.. I love that you enjoy working with the self striping yarns. Several years ago, I returned to knitting and crocheting..after about 15 years of quilting. I remember being amazed at all of the beautiful yarns noe svsilsblr… I was especislly excited about the gorgeous self striping yarns, as well the lovely ombres….and more. When I began buying yarn..in the 70’s… choices were very limited. We had Coats and Clark (Red Heart), and Wintuk. There were solids, and variegated yarns… Bernat Baby yarn was available, too. Now, our choices are almost endless. Shopping for yarn is so much fun..

Absolutely love this pattern and tutorial:) Have always struggled with grannies and joins, even the continuous ones. But this is so easy to crochet (with the adjustment in the second round) and no constant turning to keep the edges straight. Bless you for this pattern. Almost at the end of my baby blanket and will probably start another one right away! Will suggest this to a beginning crocheter in my yarn group as I know she will be so encouraged with the results😊

I bet I’ve mad z hundred of these classics.. I still love i You can’t bear rage crispness of white, and a good blue.. Making these blankets is addicting. The color combinations are endless, and they require no thought.. When I returned to knitting and crochet...after years of quilting...I was amazed at the choices are available today. As late as the 89’s there was Coats & Clark Red Heart, , and maybe Wintuk... Self striping yarns were unheard of, and there really weren’t all that many LYS’s around. Self striving yarns did for knitters and crocheters what ore-cuts did for quilting.l Both. made our creative lives so much better.. Thanks for another really good tutorials I always look forward to them. 💜

Sounds great! My first thought was also how easy this would be to scale up to a full throw or blanket. I mean, you just go on and on, right? (And adapting it so it's not a square would be quite straightforward as well.)

Best pattern I've found for a continuous granny square. Thank you SO much. I've made 2 blankets so far, using nearly all of 3 Bernat Baby Blanket Stripes cakes. I add a border of 1 round of sc and 2 rounds of dc. They come out the size I like using almost 3 cakes After 2 skeins, they're only about 30x30 if crocheted with a K hook. I tried starting one with a J hook (faster, right), but the holes were too big, the blanket looked floppy, and my sister said it wasn't as nice as my previous work. Thanks again!

Seriously, so glad I found this. I'm loving how its working up with Caron Chunky Cake skeins. Quick, and so pretty too! But I crochet tightly, so I had to up my hook size past the 6.5 mm suggestion. I was looking at the math for that, but I'm still wondering if that's gonna change the yardage very much. It didn't seem like there was a very clear cut answer. 🤔
