For the people who want to build this but don't have a lot of slimeballs, you do NOT need sticky pistons to do this, regular pistons don't burn, so the sticky pistons seem to be purely for aesthetic. You can also have all pistons fire at once (that's honestly what I recommend). You can also ignore the corner that he doesn't put the pistons on, because pistons can't push an extended piston. Loved the video, just thought I'd give some feedback to make it less expensive and a little more effective. Edit: all pistons on the same side can fire at the same time, also they have to be on the same level.

I made my very first blaze farm this weekend and I used this plan. Except I got a bazillion blazes spawning all at once in the spawn room. I couldn't get anything done in there even with lighting it up, so I built everything else first. I figured out that lowering the ceiling to just 2 airspace above the spawner top reduced the spawns a lot so that I could make the room the right size. The spawns picked up when I started removing the floor, so that was tricky. All in all, not easy, but a fun challenge, and 2.5 stacks of blaze rods in the end. Wow.

IDEA TO IMPROVE THE FARM: Wattles, you may not need the final funnel. It worked for me in Bedrock to have the killing spot right in the center surrounded by eight blocks where the blazes would drop. Using half slabs and a trap door leaves just enough space to swing at them and collect the loot, but they do not retaliate. Again, this worked in Bedrock, but it should work in Java too. Doing this, you can probably raise your killing spot 5 or so blocks, which may put you just close enough to activate the spawner. You'll have a constant stream of blazes coming down without the need to move up and down into the range of the spawner.

In 1.16, flowing lava moves mobs. So you can put a lava source in each corner of a 9x9 room and it will all flow to a single block in the center. No need for pistons and the deep funnel...cool though they are. Aside from the simplicity improvement, your killing spot is then within range of the spawner, so you don't need to move around to load up the system with blazes and then go kill them. You could just afk with a click script. I've build two blaze grinders using this approach, though I made the lava funnel 10x10 and the drop area 2x2. That seems to help with cramming and blazes getting stuck. I got the idea from EagleEye621.
