Hi I’m trying to save my pink panther as the leaves at the bottom are all brown and dry. I suspect it may be due to under watering. What should I do to keep it alive? I’ve been watering it again and the top leaves are now nice and pink but not sure what to do with the bottom dry leaves.
@PlantNationMinh2 жыл бұрын
Hi Rose Kim, One the bottom leaves are brown and dry they won't come back. If you find tge stems are now top heavy then prune it and propagate the cuttings to make the plant more full. Hope that helps. Happy Callisia Gardening ❤
@rosekim80742 жыл бұрын
@@PlantNationMinh hi thanks so much for your reply! I’ll prune them and propagate them into a new pot. If I cut the stems with the dried up leaves low at a node will the remaining stems grow back? Or is it better to remove all the roots from the pot and start again?
@PlantNationMinh2 жыл бұрын
@@rosekim8074 I would not restart all over again. If the roots are health the remaining stem with the brown leaves will start to grow new leaves on the remaining stem. Just make sure you have at least 2 nodes on the remaining stem. Your welcome , ask me anytime. I'm always happy you help out plant lovers all over the world. ❤️

@@PlantNationMinh is it advisable to remove the brown leaves or stem cutting

Mine is really sick I think can I save it or would you start over? It still has green/pink on it

Hi, if you think there is no root rot then l would try and save it. If there is root rot then it's easier to start growing new plant. Happy Calisia repens Gardening ❤️

If youre still available for answers: My "rescued from store" plant essentially looks a bit like you freshly propagated Callisia. Damp, full indirect...though maybe in dry conditions. But the roots are not planted well. Should I bury them more, even though the foliage is very thin, weak and fragile?
@PlantNationMinh7 ай бұрын
Hy Jessica, l will just lightly sprinkle a little potting mix at the top to light cover the roots. Need to be careful when sprinkling the soil to prevent the delicate stems from breaking. Happy Calisia Repens Gardening ❤️

Hi! What do I do if the leaves are brown and fallen off put the plant is kept moist not wet. It is not root rot.
@PlantNationMinh Жыл бұрын
Hi Michelle, great question! Get rid of the dead leaves. The soil can stay moist for up to 1 month then need to let the soil complete dry before moisting the soil again. Happy Callisia propagation ❤️

I am trying out the two methods. Did it work for you? This video was from a year ago, I can't find any videos if you had any updates if it works.
@PlantNationMinh9 ай бұрын
Hi It worked for me . Unfortunately , the updated video file was corrupted. I will do another update video and let you know when it's ready. I found that l had to only light spray the surface of the plant with water. When l used my watering can it was too much water and some stems rotted. Make sure to only partially cover the plant, leave room for air circulation. Happy Calisia Repens Gardening ❤️

Good to know. I also covered the pot with a plastic bag for humidity 😂
@PlantNationMinh9 ай бұрын
@nhuie If you covering the pot with plastic bag then probably no need to cover the top of the cuttings as l found too much humidity can rot the cuttings because of the lack of airflow. ❤️

Thanks for the advice. I will remove the plastic bag for the pot I covered with soil. Fingers crossed it will bloom!
