so excited to see the serengeti texture...I have ceilings that the previous owner simply never textured at all, he just painted the wallboard surface.... thank you so much for this demo... I have 2 popcorn ceilings to remove and then I can resurface the entire ceiling in my open area.... (part of the prob...1 open area has 2 popcorn sections, 1 painted flat wallboard and 1 wallboard with a flat skim coat that just stops....ahhhh!!!!) really thrilled to see this solution...something I can do myself with long-handled rollers...love your videos...watch every one.

Love your videos on wall texturing. I'm a DIY person. Redoing the soffits in my wife's kitchen. Well, I couldn't find the roller in my time frame, so I purchased a foam roller from Lowes and made my own pattern. My wife loves it. It was an education to say the least. I did a Lilly bouquet. Thanks for the encouragement.

Leah, I love your videos!! You have given me the confidence to tackle so many diy projects. I so appreciate your knowledge, calming explanations, and easy to follow directions. Last summer (with your help) I replaced kitchen cabinets and countertops by myself. I am next going to texture my ceiling with help from this video. You are a true gem. Thank you!

Love this! Wish I had know this last year when I redid my walls. I had to hand do it with ragging method. This would be great to mix your paint in with it and save time on painting. Thanks Leah.

Great demo Leah of the difference in the 2 kinds of new rollers. My Uncle George is long passed but he was a sheet rocker and he did all of the designs on the wall himself with different trowels and sponges. He did some beautiful work, I really miss him. When I would go to Indiana to visit family he would put me to work carrying those big 4x8 sheets of sheet rock. I didn’t think my hands would ever heal, lol. Thanks for this video and giving me great memory of my Uncle George.

Leah, thanks for the great videos and encouragement!! I have a horrible finish on my kitchen ceiling. No joke it looks like heavy swirled merengue (misspelled, lol). It has a shiny paint as well. Boo hoo. Would this process cover over that? Regarding the paint, would it have to be sanded in order for the drywall mud to stick? Thnx!

Do these rollers work fine if you want to do a knockdown method? I was thinking with as random as a pattern as what the serengeti offers that it might work good for knocking it down afterwards.

You mentioned this is good method for a popcorn ceiling. Since the ceiling has a deeper texture, would you suggest to try to get off as much of the popcorn first or just use extra plaster?

Another great video! Our home is wall to wall sharp, pointy joint compound. I wonder if the first owner was wanting orange peel and the plasterer didn’t finish it off sometimes to soften up all the points. Some of the bumps have been known to cut fragile skin. This may be an answer to my dilemma. Thank you Ms. Leah! As promised, we supported those who support you, even found recipe cards from Rite in the Rain, thank you!

Leah, I have a question for you. I just watched your texturing video that was through Zillow on KZbin. You mentioned to prime the walls before texturing. I just removed all of the texture from my bathroom ceiling. I have some holes to fill with joint compound before texturing. Do you suggest priming the whole ceiling after all my patchwork is done, and before texturing the ceiling?

I need advice. I own a mobile home. It has insulated textured panels on the ceiling. I is impossible to buy new panels. In the bathroom I have water damage from a leaky roof. It’s fixed. Is it recommended to put drywall over the existing panels? Or should I cut the old panels out? Should I use the green water proof drywall? What thickness of drywall should I use? I plan to cut out the damaged section. Screw shims the thickness of the good panels. Add any necessary blocking. Screw drywall screws into the panels to hold them in place while I install the new drywall. Remove the decorative plastic washers holding the panels in place. Then install drywall as normal. Please give me your advice.
