@@ArtLoversLab I used the technique on chair pads last year and they are still perfect. I think the secret is to apply lots of clear wax and to leave it for a good 30 days to cure properly. I personally would only use this technique on occasional furniture, I couldn’t say how it would hold up with heavy use. Hope that helps! 😁

I’m in Montreal, Quebec. I have lots of Quebec antiques. Been collecting since age 19. Now I’m at the stage of giving my wood stained pieces a good sanding and applying a white wash.. I’ve tried other chalk paint but I keep going back to Annie Sloan.. I’m in my bedroom now and looking at 5 mirrors. All vintage. I have at least 5 or more in living room & I just bought another one last week. I’ll take pictures eventually. I have a friend in the UK WHO sources antiques for me since your style in the UK 🇬🇧 Is much different. I’d stay most is thrifted even my dishes BUT I do love homesense and driving to the States ONLY for Hobby Lobby . If you ever need something I can buy for you and you’ll pay me back . I got some used high end, great brand, good quality brown real leather club chairs. Took the shine off sanded the feet and I the leather to make them look antique. ❤

I’ve gotten lucky I must say in the last month helping out friends who have lost a loved one, old loved ones so I picked up a few things. I also have a thing with mirrors. I am SO drawned to vintage mirrors . I just repainted one but not finished I need Annie Sloan paint. Lol 😂 but love her paints.

So large I had to have a larger window installed. When it leaves it will need to be removed in piece. 😂 It is a wonderful soft leather. Untreated. And more has several rips in the husband's seat area. I am looking for ideas. Please share if you have any!

It’s so wonderful when you have a piece you adore. Have you considered having your husband’s seat repaired? Maybe approach some local upholsterers in your area that can visit your home? For a quick cover up use throws and cushions. Let me know how you get on 😊🤗

I was able to find a loveseat that is in excellent condition other than one of the attached cushions is worn completely through. I looked in different areas and can see ways to remove fabric to recover the top. It was such a good deal that it could not be passed up. It will be where I relax on a closed in porch. My immediate plan is to simply use a throw that is held on with plastic clamps in the back. Will be on the search for ideas or may leave it as is with a chenille bedspread covering it?? I live on the edge of a forested area in the pineywoods of East Texas.

We call those "club chairs" in the USA. 🇺🇸 That was sn excellent price, but they were worn out. I wouldn't have known what to do to them. After you painted them, Will the paint crackle, crack, and wear off? Does it still feel like leather?

What an under taking, I wouldn't have thought about using chalk paint. I bought a chair at auction some 19 yrs ago now, had a "broken" leg laying next to it, turned out it just had to be screwed back on, I paid $1/...78 pounds for it. Like you, no one was interested in it. It's me, in the states from the shore in Maryland.
