This by far is the best type of setup I have seen. If you go to Facebook and ask the question, no one will give you a good answer. It seems no one is doing it right like you.

Haha thanks Jim! I haven't had to clean our Ryonet tank literally since making this video so... it works! Can't usually find a reason NOT to do it imo.

Another thought is maybe since the solids trap is working so well and is so simple to clean and use, why not use two in a series before the other filter. That may double the bucket cleaning time but might cut the ryonet filter cleaning in half. Also I gotta say I really enjoy your videos and appreciate what you're doing. I'm just getting into this business so the help is invaluable.

Thanks Amir! That’s a great suggestion and I’ve seen some setups like that. My issue is just space and wanting it to hang off the rest of the filter unit. I’d rather clean it every few months than ever going this long again.

Thank you sir! ‘Good’ really depends on a couple factors like your region’s rules. With that said though I passed our regional water standards test with just trying single bucket. Your mileage will vary but since it’s so cheap and simple it’s definitely better than nothing.

great setup, however, you said you passed your water test with just the bucket. Does that mean you passed it with the bucket only and no Ryonet filtration?

Yes, exactly - passed it even without the micron filtration! So I was taking an extra step when we got the Ryonet box. But it was a ton more work cleaning it every week. I put the bucket back right away and it's been great ever since.

So what do you do with the sludge from the bucket?

Tom Riv We still have less than one 5gal bucket of solids, and it’s been a pretty long time. We have a local waste company that will pick it up, so it’s gunna go to them along with the empty ink containers we’ve been saving too. Trying to avoid as much uncured plastisol going directly to landfill as possible.

I designed a system almost identical to this! What micron mesh filters do you use in your blue micron filter housings and how often do you need to change them? I was planning on 3, but maybe 2 will work just fine? Great video, btw. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Richie! Appreciate you watching. The Ryonet system comes with a 75 and a 20 micron filter so that’s what we stuck with. But really it all comes down to how much is being filtered out before the smaller micron filters. Because without the solids trap up front the whole thing stunk and we were cleaning it every other week probably.

@@CoryFloodwayPrintCo Thanks Cory! Ahhh, I didn't realise they were part of the Ryonet one. Thanks for the info, though! That system wasn't available when I was looking for a solution. I plastic welded my own washout booth, so figured it would cost me peanuts to make a better filtration system for my WB inks, too. I was hoping the blue filters wouldn't clog up too fast using a pre-filter screen system, so it looks like I was heading in the right direction. Love the channel, btw. Thank you, appreciate the tip I will definitely check that out! The micron filters at the end of the Ryonet setup are super common though so you could still get them from a hardware store and rig it up to your system! Thanks again for watching. More to come!
