Beannachd na Bliadhna Uir! Thank you so much, Mr. Zabel! I am of Scots heritage, and now I can accompany myself singing with a beautiful, honest chord melody that my aching old fingers can play today!

Happy New Year to you as well. Glad you enjoyed it. Chord melodies don't have to tie your fingers into knots to be pretty.

Hey Mark just wanted to let you know I got in on your memorize the fretboard in 2 weeks etc. Course I recently retired and took up guitar (again) just finished the 2 week exercise. in the process of learning it i noticed my fingers knew where to go automatically on the fretboard for the correct notes I'm bad with the names of the notes but it sure made a difference (big time) finding the notes. That's how it's working for me. Actually I'm just in the beginning of your course and I think it's great. 👍👍 Thanks for the time you put into constructing this course. 😎

Agree. Sweet. I’ll learn this version then try to add some 7th chords to jazz it up on the second time through. Any suggestions on that?
@MarkZabel5 ай бұрын
I would be more prone to add embellishments to the melody myself and perhaps some additional movement between chords primarily using triads. However, if you're looking for a jazzier arrangement, try starting with basic min/maj/dom 7ths and maybe a passing chord or two and go from there. No wrong answers, just seek a bit and you'll find some things you like.

@MarkZabel I could tell without you saying or looking at guitar. Has that Rich tone to it as well as the electric B&G! VERY SWEET💥🎸💥

Nice job. Is that D7 supposed to be 2 1 0 2 0 0 ?
@MarkZabel5 ай бұрын
Thanks. I think I played only through to the melody note on the g-string - not the whole chord. That's one of the standard ways to make the melody note stand out.
@jimmuller5 ай бұрын
@@MarkZabel Just seems a little confusing why you add the B flat 2/1 on both the D7 and the G chord, seems strange and I'm not sure you even play that note on all the chords.
