Love the videos. The new Spike Flow is a game changer at a much more reasonable price point. Hope to see more videos soon.

Been going through a few of your videos. Just want to say thanks for taking the time to put these together! Been keeping my eye on a 14 gal unitank for a while, and your videos really helped answer a lot of my questions. Your brewery looks great! Keep up the great work and happy brewing!

Thanks a bunch Brendan I’m glad they helped you out. I previously had Stout conicals but sold them during the onset of Covid and picked up the Ss Brewtech unitanks. They make really nice stuff. Doing some brewery mods over Christmas but hope to brew up a new batch soon! What’s the first beer you are going to brew once you get the new unitank?

Thanks for another informative film (I have watched you assemble the SSB 14 gal unitank a few times). Considering entering the world of unitanks I have a few questions and would be super thankful for your input: - What pumping capacity does the pump in this film have? I have real trouble finding a reliable answer regarding CIP feed online. I am also going for a sump pump, not least because they can handle larger particles. - How cool do you make the beer, can you cold crash and even prep it for bottling and what method do you use (glycol chiller)? Today I bring the beer down to 33-35 F (approx. 1 C) using a regular fridge, which I found is perfect to avoid foaming while bottling (in addition to using 8 feet of 3/16" PE hose). Many thanks in advance, Henrik (Mr), Sweden. -

Henrik thanks for reaching out and I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I plan on creating more in the near future. I’m going to have to check the pump capacity but I believe it’s a 1/4 hp sump pump. I owe you the specifics and will verify as soon as I get back home (few days). The Chugger pumps I use are only really sufficient for rinses as they don’t have the power to blast the inside of the unitank. I’ve thought about spending the cash and picking up one of the Chugger Max pumps so I can really do a clean in place instead of utilizing my sink. How cool do I make the beer? Well I generally cold crash down to 40 f. I don’t do it much lower than that because I want to reduce the number of times my glycol chiller cycles on and off. I’ve carbonated in the unitank several times and then kegged the beer but generally I just keg the cold beer and then let it carbonate over two weeks before serving. I’ve got a counter pressure filler that I use to bottle beer from the keg for competitions but I’ve never hooked it directly to the unitank for bottling. I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t do something similar. I’ve got a video about the counter pressure filler that I now utilize. It’s a little pricey but it really works well. Let me know if you have any other questions and I’ll get back to you about the pump specifics!

@@FireandFroth Thanks a lot for the good and generous reply. I really just needed a hint, like 1000, 2000 or 3000 gallons an hour. I have a simple setup today that works well, but the idea of using a cool steel unitank and use the same vessel from fermentation to serving/bottling really makes me want one...

@@hobbeeswe7472 I believe it’s in the ballpark of 2000 gph but I’ll verify and let you know. I originally started using conicals because space was at a premium and I didn’t have room for a chest freezer or refrigerator in my basement brew room. I ended up selling them and picking up a 7 and a 15 gallon unitank and happy with them thus far.

Do you use regular chlorinated tap water in the cleaning process?

I use normal tap water for the cleaning process. Nothing fancy in fact our water out here is pretty hard.
