Just wanted to drop a note of thanks. Your tutorials gave me the courage to try and make a hat. I have always crocheted afghans, throws, and baby blankets, until now. While visiting my brother who is fighting metastatic brain cancer he was watching me crochet. I asked him if he would like an afghan and he said "No, I want a hat. My head is always cold." Crystal, your tutorials helped me to crochet not one, but 2 hats for my brother. I gave them to him yesterday. They may not have been as perfect as yours, but they were made with love. Crystal i just found your page and i just love everything you have made on here. I really love this pattern because it's fast and easy to make. I'm 64 yrs old and for the first time in my life i'm homeless with 3 of my 4 adult children, we where Illegally evicted from our home this past September and we're in a moral paying $700 a week payments and trying to find a home to rent and it's not easy when 3 of us are on SS and SSI and my youngest is between jobs and we have 3 dogs. This is not the first time that we were pushed out of our home but the second time the first time they gave us time to find a place and we found the one we just lost this last September. So i've been making Bernie's too sale to make extra money to save for a new place to rent and found your vlog and i love your patterns and ppl love the hats I make. Not all of them are yours some are ones i've made myself from my own patterns that i've found in the craft books and now yours, again thank you for sharing your ideas with us. Note for us older hookers (I am 60yrs!) - 😉 - following instructions (and Crystal's tutorials are perfect for this!) - and using our hands at the same time - engaging both our minds and our hands is AWESOME therapy to exercise our brains to help prevent memory problems as we age. I just lucked into some very nice yarn (no label so ?) in a solid color with a lovely sheen, but only what looks to be about 200 yards of it in about a 4 weight. I just made this with a hank of hand dyed superwash merino wool yarn from a Hobby Lobby clearance. It was a 4 weight with supposedly only 110 yards and that was enough to complete it exactly as you did yours! My mind is blown! And I absolutely love this pattern!! My yarn was much busier and it still turned out so pretty. Thank you so much for this tutorial! 💖

I made two of these for our volunteer group at my Senior Center. We are supposed to make hats for all the drivers who volunteer to deliver the meals on wheels, then our leader said we should also include the people who receive the meals. Well this hat is so cute and pretty easy. So both times you and I have crocheted it together. Theses hats will be given out for the Christmas holiday season. I think if you and I crochet a couple more together I will have the pattern memorized. I also made one of your shawl patterns for entry in our State Fair in June plus your pink cowl. I will post a picture of my shawl on you Facebook page real soon.

Hey Crystal, love all the stitches in this hat!! Very pretty!!! I’d do it as a slouchy!!! Hahaha!! My head doesn’t look good in beanies!!! I’d also end in a reverse single crochet…like how that looks, adds a nice rope texture….. Might add 3 rows of post stitches, maybe more…, I just bought a beautiful long Berkshire cape!!!, and I want a red hat scarf n fingerless gloves to go w/it. Blood red or cherry red. Maybe sparkle or speckled. Not sure…. I want an easy fingerless pattern. Plus may just do an infinity cowl…. Would be better than a scarf…. Thanks for this pattern!! Love it!! ❤️
