For over a year, I’ve had several skeins of the light weight Bloom yarn and not been sure how to crochet with it in a way that presents the “flower” pattern. It seems like a yarn made for knitting, rather than crochet, which is why your Tunisian technique works well. I finally started a blanket with the lighter Bloom yarn, using your simple shell stitch and doing a “cut & paste” to center the “flower” rows. It’s working well, but there are lots of tails to work in. 🧶🌻

I really like this blanket. You make the pattern look so easy to do. It looks easier than a broomstick lace pattern. I will have to try to find a P16 crochet cable hook. Thank you for the link to Amazon.

Love love the blanket. I want to make one! I got a set if Tunisian crochet hooks for Christmas but not one this big. I'll have to order one, thanks for the link. Great job on the tutorial. Let's see if I can figure this out. If I want to make it a bit bigger is there any set number in the chains? 🤗❤

Maybe missed it, but if you wanted to adjust the size, is there a multiple number of Stitches, or does it need to be an even or odd number? Thank you!

any number of stitches, but you may have to adjust the border

This afghan is absolutly stunning! I am ordering the yarn but having a hard time finding that beautiful long hook that you are using. I see the link you sent but the hook doesn't seem as long as yours, I don't know how to work with that plastic rope on the end. Do you know where you got your hook? Thank you
@CreativeGrandma Жыл бұрын
Mine is an older hook purchased from Annies Attic they are no longer available they stopped making them years ago, not sure if you can find them after market on ebay or somewhere else. The cable afghan hooks work just as well, but I do like the longer hooks myself.

Glenda can this afghan be made into a queen size blanket by adding more stitches ending with odd count? I really want to make it larger, I know it will require more yarn and cost me more but I think it would look lovely in a bed size. Would the flower pattern still work like yours?
@CreativeGrandma Жыл бұрын
Karen I believe the flower pattern MIGHT change I think I would use 1 skein and try the pattern to see if the floral goes all the way across the row. You may have to adjust the border if making it larger as well.
