I’ve made several of these and they’re all great! My only modification is that I do a row of sc’s before starting the 3DC clusters. It makes the neckline more stable.
@annmartin36255 жыл бұрын
Leah Hiett I went back after I finish the poncho and added in three rows the single crochet at the neck and then I added a roll of single crochet at the bottom and then did a shell stitch to finish it off

I appreciate you getting right into the project, no going on and on about the yarn, the graphics The this , The that. It's like crocheting with a friend, just chit chatting and getting it done. Did something a bit differently to have a finished, s-t-r-e-t-c-h-y neckline, I did NOT begin the pattern from the original chain. By making one foundation row from the chain, this is accomplished. I did a HDC (half-double crochet) in the TOP loop only, then used your pattern. Try this the next time, Spider, you'll like it !!!

I enjoy watching your crocheting and knitting videos, because you do enough repetitions to let the pattern sink in. Have you ever started your crochet project doing a foundation chain instead of chaining and working into each chain. You could do a sc foundation chain which would give a nice sturdy edge. Starting with a foundation chain gives a more elastic type edge making it easier to go over your head.
@FiberSpider7 жыл бұрын
I haven't done that before. Thank you for the suggestion 😊

Can you apply variations in granny square patterns here? When I make Granny Squares I chain 1 on the corners and chain 0 in between clusters. Would that same approach work or, would that not be enough. I find that the 1/0 vs 2/1 makes the spaces tighter and thus much warmer in practical use. It's a wonderful piece and I think I might make it.. Between Winter and Covid, I need something to keep my hands busy this season.

Thank you so much for your wonderful videos! I would love to make a couple of these ponchos for my granddaughters....one is 10 and the other 5. Could you please give me an idea of how many to chain for those sizes??? Does the chain have to be in any multiples??? Many thanks for any help. It would be greatly appreciated!
@FiberSpider7 жыл бұрын
The starting chain length just needs to be long enough to fit over the head comfortably and be divisible by 4 I think. You see, you need to do the initial clusters every other chain at the beginning, and those clusters need to be divisible by 2. I hope that makes sense 😊

Fiber Spider (I wish I knew your name!) I have a question...you said make clusters in even numbers, or, divisible by 2. Well how many of the initial chain stitches does that mean? If I want to make one half the size, could I chain 30? If I wanted to make an extra large one do I make enough chains to be divisible by 4? Cluster and chain stitch. I’m so confused. But I’d like to make one for my five year old niece. Thank you!!!

I love your tut but i don,t like that the sides where the arms are, are so short, the front and back are ok. When i also do those groups of stitches who are on the front and back side on the left and right side the poncho becomes very wide. How to do this?
