Great for the beginner! This is a super easy pattern for those who know their basic crochet stitches. Works up fast. I took a couple patterns and simplified this into my own design. Makes great gifts and color change is a breeze. I used 2 Caron Cakes for mine. Hope you make yourself one or 10 :) Comment below if you attempt it. (My videography skills stink, but I assure you its an easy pattern!) Thanks!

Ooooh, Yay!!! A southern gal teaching CROCHET!! You sound like you're from the Carolina's by accent....but I could be wrong (usually Ga, Ms, Al have a thicker drawl than the Carolina's, but maybe I'm just a biased Carolina gal😜). Anyway, love that I found a fellow southerner to follow! Love the poncho! Thanks for giving the count for the various sizes too. And I thought you did great with your camera/CROCHET work! I don't think I could do it...I'm doing good looking at it directly and still miss, I'd really be OF if I had to look through a viewfinder or a screen! So, honey, you did great! New sub! Looking forward to more of your vids and patterns! Bye (in that beautiful southern bell drawl)! 😉

Hello Mando’s Studio! And thank you for the wonderful crochet tutorial. I am asking if you could please please make a tutorial on how to crochet an African Flower Tortoise. I cannot find a video tutorial anywhere! I learned how to crochet simply by looking at videos, so my pattern reading is not great. I did look at your other videos and I see that crocheting is not your main thing, but I would appreciate it greatly if you could make this tutorial! Love from South Africa xxx
@MandosStudio
@MandosStudio 4 жыл бұрын
Amber Gets thank you for the kind words. I’ve never made one of the tortoises but have made the African Flower. My guess it’s just an assembly of those but I’d have to look more into it. Unfortunately, I’m having a neck procedure today & praying it helps get my feeling back in my hand enough to do more crochet. Currently I’m not able to do much. I can still paint, because it uses different muscles in my hand, but I have zero feeling in my thumb, partial index & middle fingers. I will def look into this while I heal up!! Blessings!!

@MandosStudio
@MandosStudio 3 жыл бұрын
I have not tried to convert it. But I’d say 1 stitch with a P size hook would prob equal 2 stitches on mine. So chain 41, follow the pattern. Slip it over your head & see if it needs to be larger.

Alba Kambouris grab a pinch from the very center & pull it out. The end is in there. Make sure the label is right side up.

How many rows do you suggest for toddler and baby poncho?
@MandosStudio
@MandosStudio 6 жыл бұрын
Ellen Lowery I usually measure the baby/toddler from neck to waist. Which most toddlers it’s like 12 rows. Babies 9 rows.also depends on hook size. :)

I am at row 20 and my poncho is looking good except it is curling at the edges. How do I prevent this?
@MandosStudio

Carol Davis it will until it gets some weight holding it down. Keep going. Try not working too tightly.

Dumb question for you. Will the front be the same as the back? I like one side better than the other, lol.

julie grandbouche there are no dumb questions but yes they’ll be the same but I always love one side better than the other! Lol how the colors line up etc.

Mando's Studio OH, OK. That is good to hear! This is my first poncho and Im glad I chose this one.. Only one blooper so far and it really is easy. So many tutorials say "easy", but really, most crochet is easy once you study it a while, yet there is usually a bit of confusion involved. This is mindless easy which is perfect for beginners. I wish other channels would be more disciplined with the term "easy", lol. I watched about ten easy poncho tutorials before choosing this one. THANK YOU for this one!
