I was never taught how to cook but my younger sister was. My rice NEVER turns out the same 2 times in a row I swear I couldn’t fix a you bowl of oatmeal 😂 She’s always thought it was funny that I can’t cook but I get my laughs in when something’s a little too heavy or she needs somethin fixed & calls me lol but this video is a game changer and my crock pot has just been collecting dust I can’t wait to try it this way! Thank you! 💃🏻

I'm almost 57 and could never cook rice except boil in the bag 😉 this is a great video but I also recently learnt one cup of rice, two cups of water, a little salt, pop in the microwave covered for 20 minutes. Game changer!

I never subscribe to channels. You are my first. I have tried so many of your recipes and now I’m addicted to making bread! My grandma used to make bread every day for her 8 children in Newfoundland (Canada) so I’m proud to carry on with this. My mom made amazing food and bread too. I have told my gf’s about your great tutorials and just how sweet and down to earth you seem. My kids are practicing homestead to some degree and you have given me so much inspiration. Thank you so much for the time you take to show everyone your talents. Best wishes! I would love to but your latest cookbook if you could advise me how to do this I would be grateful. Thanks again, Rae

Gracias, la olla de cocción lenta realmente hace un buen trabajo cocinando el arroz y generalmente se hace en 4 horas. Además, si obtiene una olla de cocción lenta, debe hacer papas horneadas cargadas, le encantará.

Because you are refrigerating this before making rice pudding, you have made it a resistant starch, which means a much lower insulin response. Of course, the sugar is going to negate that somewhat, but great for fried rice etc. Great for weight loss and feeds your healthy gut bacteria.

I commonly make khichadi. It’s 50:50 rice and moong beans but you could use a quick cooking bean like Lima’s. I add some root vegetables. This morning, I’m going to follow your recipe so I can have lunch ready to go after errands! Thanks for the share

We had to live without a stove for over a year, and besides the Crockpot we also bought an Instant Pot , which was so great to use that when we finally got a new stove, I rarely use it.

I have the kitchen craft cookware, where the big pan includes a separate element I can use as a slow cooker and I would put it on level 1 if I wanted cooking for 6 hours, level 2 for 4 hours, or level 3 for 2 hours. There's also a low setting which I guess would be to keep it warm. So would I be setting it at low, where it wouldn't be hot enough to cook meat but would still warm up, or would I need to put it at level 1 in my case?

Try using less water like 2/3 or 3/4 water to 1 cup rice. I forget exactly but the rice grains stay separated when done. There is one type of rice that it doesn't work you always get sticky rice it's the smaller grain I think a white rice.

I would suggest the rice be rinsed thoroughly, 3 or 4 times if need be. For people who like their rice sticky, here is an alternative a ratio of 3 part normal rice : one part glutinous rice. It does a better job.

Is that a 4 qt pot? For 2 cups think the 4 qt is good. People doing 1 cup would have a problem with only a bit of water covering the bottom I would think. Making 2 cups or more is good for leftovers used for stir fry. Nice, Easy Thanks :)

I’m definitely not supposed to ever touch rice. I’ve never cooked it on the stove and had it come out good. I tried this and I’m 3 hours in and there’s still a half inch of water on top. I think I’m just gonna give up on rice for good. Most difficult food I’ve ever come across.
@jimmyhand12592 жыл бұрын
2 qt.-3qt. sauce pan on. Bring to boil on stove 2 cups water, dash or pinch of salt and 1 pat butter.. wgen water is beginning to bubble add 1 level cup white rice. Run fork across once, twice to settle rice, put lid on and turn to very low. A glass lid is easiest because you can see it but not necessary. Set timer to 17 minutes. When it goes off Check rice for tenderness. If not tender leave it covered and cook 3 more minutes and it should be perfect. You can double this and follow these exact instructions. This has made perfect rice for me for 45 years. Tracie
