You did it again Albert. You truly nailed it. Though I have some experience painting cubist art, your lesson and how you deconstructed the principles of cubism made it even simpler and more accessible for me to execute. This clip is a Grammy award-deserving production. Thank you for the lesson.

Thanks Carrie, it's also a bit logica because it came along not so long after abstract became the new thing. So when something looks like squares it's not always cubism style inspired. But it certainly had an influence. And it's fun style to try for yourself. Albert

How do I draw a cubism side profile?
@ImperfectPaintings4 жыл бұрын
Hi FreelanceArt, thanks for asking. You probably mean the Picasso artwork where you see half side portrait merged with a half full frontal. I suggest you draw or paint to abstracted portraits (one side, one frontal) and cut out the side and put them on top of each other. Look for examples on the internet. I think you will be able to get there by yourself. Happy painting,. Albert

@@ImperfectPaintings Yours turned out well, so bravo. I think of painting everyday for the last 15years even with materials stacked in front of me for many of those years without being able to pick up a pencil to draw, frozen. The art that I appreciate is not the style that I can do best so its also a struggle even liking what i make. Your videos help, in that it lessens the pressure and encourages to have fun and be free.
@ImperfectPaintings3 жыл бұрын
Hi Alison, thanks for sharing your personal story. I can relate a little because I would love to paint an interesting portrait but I lack the skills but also the motivation to dive into it. Fear, simple fear of not being good enough. So I do other things, like abstract. And I like it more every day. I guess any subject you dive into can bring joy. In the mean time my skill level rises and perhaps I try it again next year. I guess you catch my drift. Just start doing anything creative, try every other day to scribble whatever. Get the motor running. I got the advice some time ago and it helped me to get unstuck. Wishing you the best, Albert

Hi Mysteryguy, the cubist artists added all sort of materials in their artwork, also newspapers (the word Figaro is the name of a French newspaper), a piece of rope and so on. In the years 1960 and later artists used even worse materials, a nightmare for the curators now. Thanks for your comment, have nice day, Albert
