I just made my first one. I had one section where I was one stitch off, but just crocheted the spike stitch to the right of the last one anyway. When it was completed you can’t even tell. I’ve started my second one and am exactly right on the stitch count. This pattern is so pretty. Thank you so much!

What a beautiful stitch in the round for this potholder! Well done. Thank you for sharing. My only criticism is I would have liked to have seen the one you started with the color changes and how and what rows to change colors.

Dayna do you sell your pot holders I do not know the first thing about crocheting! But I love your Diagonal Spike Crochet Potholder in a sage green?

I have tried 3 times to start this potholder and every time , my spikes are always even on top of each other! I know my count is correct & im watching your every step on the video, but I still can’t get it right! UGH!!!

I think my issue is rounding the first corner with my spike stitch (on rd. 2) and after I do the 5 sc stitches, the spike stitch ends up directly above the spike stitch below it😭

@@margueritegarza8371 I'm sorry that's happening Marguerite. That's really frustrating! If you set up round 2 (your first round of spike stitches) and you have the correct stitch count, then I recommend not counting your stitches for the remainder of the potholder. For Rnd 3 and beyond, I would make a single crochet in each stitch until you reach the stitch beside (to the right) of the spike from the previous round. Make a spike stitch there, and then continue on. Always make your spike one stitch to the right of the previous spike. If you manually do it this way, instead of following the pattern instructions, hopefully it won't give you any trouble, and your spikes will always be in the right spot. 🙂
