Very cute idea. My 3 grandsons & I make new ornaments each year. I think these will be our project for this year. Even the 10 yr old will be able to make these. You could trace around a star cookie cutter to make the shapes. Thanks for sharing.

If your going to leave them outside, would dishwasher safe ModPodge, be a better glue to use? Since it's safe in water.

Super cute, and excellently explained how to. Will definitely make some of these. Just thinking you could jazz them up a little too if you wanted, with a light spray of spray adhesive, or a light lick of the same white glue or mod podge and add a light sprinkle of glitter.... just a little though... not over done

Great job and project thx for sharing enjoyed it I was wondering could you use different colors of the twine or dye the twine God Bless

Yes you can, but I find there is something about the twine that gives it a really nice neutral look. Totally up to you tho. Have fun!

I’m in the 1st phase…using modpodge with a little water. The last one I ran out of my mixture so using straight up modpodge. I’ll see if stiffness difference. Thanks for video!

That's awesome! Let me know how it turns out. I'm curious too.
@320jcford Жыл бұрын
What did you think of the results?
@johngrossnickle8874 Жыл бұрын
@@320jcford I think I need to squeeze more of the modpodge mixture out of the string before wrapping as the extra glue dried on the underside. Challenging to trim off once dried.
@savvybuilds Жыл бұрын
@@johngrossnickle8874 I tested mod podge vs glue in this video, kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqXdfKxnjMyhfK8 if you are interested in knowing the difference.

I make these stars but instead of wrapping string around, I fill each section with rolled paper tubes ( when you take a piece of paper and roll it into a ‘paper straw’. I flatten the tubes then just fit them into each section. I would show you a photo buy don’t know how to attach it to my comment! Sorry. They are rather pretty.

Wonderful, explanation and technique. I just wondered what size twine you were using because I tried it and it didn’t work, but I think my rope was too thick .
@savvybuilds2 ай бұрын
Hi. It's about 1/8 of an inch. Maybe slightly thinner. It's just the small roles from the dollar store. If you used mod podge instead of glue it won't work. Too much flex.
