Here is an easy way to fix damaged Faux Leather jackets. You can use a Sewing machine or do like me and HAND SEW!!!!!!!!

Question did you remove the old piece of leather or did you place the new one on top?

I am so sorry for the late reply. I never got a notice. I just placed the new one on top. I didn't want to further damage the jacket. Once you place the new piece over it and sew it into place it will prevent any further damage. Hope this helps.

This is not "faux leather". This is P.L.U fabric!:) for those who want to Google other solutions. Faux leather patches and fabric usually have an embossed pattern that looks like real leather patterns. PLU FABRIC is this smooth, stretchy material. :)

Of course you can. I just used the same type of material in the video, because that’s what my dad wanted🤣🤣🤣

What if the whole jackets leather is coming off like this

If your like me and wouldn't mind the work, it would just mean you would need to take your time. Get the different panel pieces(the left and right front panels, back panel), and cover it. It would be the same process I did to fix my dad's jacket. Having a Sewing machine will make the project so much easier and quicker. Let me know what you decide.

Oh. In doing the project, I realised that the glue wasn't very helpful and would still encourage the pealing. So, I showed the most effective method to fix the problem in the video.

I found this video both helpful and difficult at the same time. I have a few leather jackets and a coat that I love, but they're peeling badly. I'm not sure I'd waste the time doing this. I'll probably wind up taking them somewhere for repair, but thank you so much for the tutorial

I was able to find the fabric I needed at Fabric World when I visited Atlanta. But you can check your local fabric/craft stores and see if you can find the fabric you need.
