I did eventually get it. "It's not hard" is different than "it's easy", but I wouldn't say I didn't have difficulty. It was my first time doing something like that. In your video you say repeatedly "it's tricky". That is a good descriptor. I am glad I did it, but I was up until 3am.

Well done Madame Looks easy whilst watching you doing it but we're sure that we'd get lost soon enough!! Looks like .. something very mathematical and that makes us feel nervous already, eh eh eh ! Flat faces - I thought we were dumb, but apparently is a comon error? Eh eh eh ;)

Thats Beyond awesome!! How long have you been doing this?! Watching what you do gives me a idea. Make several life-size ppl fir our basement. We're setting it as for a BIG sale and have a Bunch of different kinds of clothing. Maybe they can model the clothes. Think they'd be strong enough?! I'd think maybe we can spray something or paint something on them to stiffen them up?!
@UltimatePaperMache10 ай бұрын
I've been on KZbin for about 13 years! The face forms will hold up a hat, and will be stronger if you use crumpled foil to make the muscles and expression and add paper mache. If you want them to keep the skull shapes, be sure to cover them with at least one layer of paper mache before spraying them. They'll be plenty strong for a display. Good luck with your sale!

This is really great stuff, I have never seen anything quite like it. I am a children’s pastor, and I love to bring Bible stories to life through VBS’s, Junior Camps and such like. This upcoming summer our camp is going to be on the book of Daniel, and on the platform I would like to construct a 20 foot tall replica of the statue King Nebuchadnezzar had constructed. Watching through your videos, I feel like paper mache may be my best option, but what I am looking to do is on a much larger scale than this particular project. Do you think it is feasible to build put something together that large? If so, I really like your diagram for purchase, but how could I make it much larger? Thank you for your time and all of your great resources

You can use the paper mache clay over cardboard, but flat cardboard tends to warp.

Last year at the thrift store they had like 20 Styrofoam heads. I bet something like that would work well for these projects bc you could just cut off what ever feature you would like to exagerate.
@UltimatePaperMache4 жыл бұрын
Yes, that works if the heads are reasonably close to the shape of actual humans. Some of them are, but others look more like Martians. It's a great idea, though, if you can find the right kind. I often use my mannequin head, if its nose won't get in the way of my design.
