This is what I've been making and using. It works quite well, for most things. When I'm washing something really greasy or oily, I still use dawn. For everything else, I use this.
It's a lot like making bar soap, except you sub out sodium hydroxide for potassium hydroxide. It won't harden completely like a bar, but will make more of a paste. This soap paste can be stored, undiluted until you are ready to use it.
When you are ready to make your soap, only use as much paste as you need, store the rest. Dilute the paste in warm water to make dish soap. If you are OK with watery dish soap, dilute at 1:5 ratio of soap paste to water. If you want something thicker and goopier go 1:1 or stronger.
It's just a step that's part of a bigger picture. Check the ingredients on things you eat and use. Ask yourself, honestly, if that's what you want. If not, check out some of my videos!
