Perfect video Danny. I did everything exactly, I checked the board, and I didn't see anything wrong with it. I plugged everything back in. The code cleared, and it's working! Thanks so much, Amy

Wow! Just a reset wiped the error! Thanks so much! I was about to tear this thing apart, or call someone to service it. You saved me time and money!

Glad that worked for you. I also found that using laundry pods vs powder detergent is much better for the cycles and minimizes on other errors like “SUD”

Thank you!!! You are the man. Same issue. Our daughter just came home from college for the summer. She washed one load last night and then this morning we tried to start the washer and nothing. I got it to throw a code 70. Removed the motor control board to inspect. Nothing looked burnt, loose, or corroded. I reinstalled and Walla, it's working again. Saved me $330 on the parts site. I found a used one eBay for $36. Thankfully I don't seem to need one now. Again thank you for the video.

Thank you for that wonderful video and explanation which was very clear. I followed your instructions and did not see anything that looked like a component failure but did notice that the printed circuit board had a covering of fine powdery substance on back side of the board that had adhered possibly due to the severe weather event that caused moisture and debri to possibly short out the circuit at times when the humidity is high. Thank you again and God bless.

Thanks Danny! I made sure to just unplug the power, all the wires and plug them back in, and then yep; it powered back up fine clearing the F71 error code. At the beginning I did find a plastic bottle cap in the drain filter after checking there first as well as my daughter's make up remover pad. lol. I wonder if that semi blockage produced the error and could only be cleared by removing the wire plugs and re-inserting. The drain plug wasn't inserted into the rubber "feet" at the bottom of the HET3 Kenmore Elite washer as well. All good. If I did need to buy a MCU, I found one for $174 on Amazon. Not too bad. Thanks again!

Glad you were able to fix the problem. Thanks for commenting. Also one last tip, I notice that I would get “sud” errors whenever using either the powder or liquid detergents. Now I use the detergent pods instead and no more issues.

You said you had tested it and it was totally fine but was that the resetting of the motherboard?
@DDIY-Guy Жыл бұрын
That is correct. I think by me taking it apart, it somehow reset the motherboard .

Great video, any suggestions of a good website that sells this motor control unit?
@DDIY-Guy2 ай бұрын
You can see if it’s available on eBay or Amazon for your model. I’ve seen it listed for my unit there for a few hundred dollars. Good luck.

I fixed my washer by replacing the MCU (motor control unit). I was able to get it on ebay from a user that parted it out because of a mechanical problem. My motor worn down the insulation and shorted out the MCU sending stray voltage and blowing the logic on MCU. I suggest putting electrical tape on the wires on the motor to prevent this later on and also level the unit to prevent vibration.

Thanks for the video! Quick question followed everything, board looks good will only work if I leave the top wire ( blue) out! What is your opinion ?
@pjstock1352 жыл бұрын
THAT was a clear and helpful video, well shot, well commented. thank you. I would though like to hear an opinion on why the unit worked when the MCU was reconnected? electronics don't just fix themselves. was it just the process of disconnecting and reseating the harnesses, so it was just a bad connection?
@DDIY-Guy2 жыл бұрын
I think it was a bad connection. To this day it works fine.

My frigidaire washer has the E68 and E71 codes what should I do?
@DDIY-Guy4 жыл бұрын
Check the drain hose to see if there isn’t any kinks, and do a cleaning of the drain filter. Then I would try and turn off and on the breakers to the machine to full rest your machine. If that does not work, i would check the control board to see if anything blew. I have another video for this.

It F7 the same as F70 ?
@joeyrodriguez34682 жыл бұрын
Is ?
@DDIY-Guy2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately it’s not the same error but I would check the board anyway to see if there are any burnt spots on the contacts. The F7 error is an issue with your motor.

Can you help me that I have now
@MrShleny1204 жыл бұрын
F70 in the troubleshooting guide shows that there is no communication between the conrtoller and the main board.
@CircularMirror73 жыл бұрын
In my case I was getting F70 but and it turned out to be the MCU.

My fault I just realized you are working on the washer, My code is on the dryer.
