Alas, I decided not to reopen it. Before I did the frosting (with just paint), I tested opening the lid. But the existing paint already made it tricky and it was one of those very airtight lids since it had a good product. I think it would be great on a looser lid and if you frost it separately, if that makes sense.

One of the cherries would have to be a drawer knob or hardware. Right from the beginning of the vid, I kept saying but Katy... how will it open? lol Im a huge fan, I will watch anything you post! You should have a channel for Baquette or just strap a GoPro to her and she can be your secondary camera, covering all your Moments Of Hell lol. Even if she just slept all day, I would watch her saucy little face!

that is so perfect. Many years ago I worked at a high end department store. The bakery was well known and popular. They had some "fake" cakes for display. They were so realistic that one of the sales associates sold one. It wasn't until one of the ritzy customers tried to cut it at a party that they realized it was fake.

A-DOR-able! Great reuse of a recyclable! The tiny cherries hack is genius. Nice work with the icing tips - I realize you only had two to choose from, and it turned out great, but in general wider lines are more forgiving than thin ones if you’re a beginner at cake decorating. Writing names, etc., in a fine line can be really difficult, even for the experienced - when we mess up, we do what you did - scrape it off and start over!😂

The girl has got skills! Have you ever tried white silicone piping? I think it could be tinted to a color. I have a secret love of Decoden phone covers and may someday try to make one on the cheap to achieve my ultra feminine pink dream. But my piping skills need major improvement and practice. Many fails but lots of fun. ❤

I’m not entirely sure. But as long as it’s marked as lightweight spackle (specifically), it should be fine. There are a bunch of different brands.

Oh no!!! 😱 If you’re trying to preserve what you have, I would just try to patch up/fill in where it cracked. This may mean getting sneaky in how you get the spackle in the cracks (using toothpicks, q-tips, or even needles to get it in really tiny places and wiping off or sanding down any of the excess). So sorry to hear that happened. I’m assuming it was with lightweight spackle? I hear this can happen because layers are too thick, so it’s best to work in thinner layers, but obviously that’s a pain.
