Wow these sound really yummy! Would love to see videos of the meals you have written down. Maybe just a few different videos like “what we had for dinner this week”. It would be really neat to see how put them together. There are meals I haven’t heard of like “flaky parm fish”, or just the rice bowls. Love how creative they are. :)

Okay. That sounds like a plan. I'll write those down, and try to make videos some time. :) Thanks so much for your input. I really appreciate it when people can tell me what they want to see.

I just posted my monthly meal planning video yesterday!! I love monthly meal planning!! Definitely saves time and money!! And the dreaded "what am I making for supper tonight?"
@homemadehomestead29853 жыл бұрын
lol. It's a very real struggle, isn't it? I feel like people who don't do the majority of the cooking just don't understand. :P I'll have to check out your video. That's awesome! : )

@@homemadehomestead2985 I totally agree. And I think most ppl just don't have enough ingredients on hand to even attempt monthly meal planning or cooking from scratch.

I always make monthly menus and I use the meat and fish from the month before. Then the meat I buy this month will be fore June menu. The thing is I buy family packs of meats so I will usually only buy what meats I am low on or is really a great sale price. My meal plans are exchange friendly, so I can switch them around. Today is ham steak, baked potato, brussel sprouts and salad.I have a lot to do today so this is really easy. Your yard is really shaping up and all your hard work will pay off for years to come. Have a good day. Lol, Sandy Pittman

Aaw, thanks, Sandy. We have a vision of how we'd like our yard to look some day, and that helps us keep going year to year, I think. That's a really good idea for shopping for meat, actually. Nicely done!

My granddaughter likes potstickers so when you mentioned potstickers burgers I just had to Google a recipe to try. Thanks for the idea.

Yes give me some new kabob ideas. Our kids love them. Sushi ideas show what all you put in yours we just learned how to make it. Fun month ahead with yummy food.
@homemadehomestead29853 жыл бұрын
Kabobs, I kept really simple. For the marinade, I just did onions, garlic, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Other than that, chicken, mushrooms, zucchini...oh, and we also grilled slices of pineapple, which was pretty good. :)

Yeah!! I finished my meal plan and I am often moving things around before finishing so I would totally mess up your chart. Do you have a list of meal ideas already or just inventory? I start with an inventory so maybe I am making it harder on myself. We have an easy night where we do grilled chicken and rice and a hard night meaning in that takes more time or is a new recipe too.... although my hard night is Saturday so that I can prep stuff during the day. Totally agree that summer brings cooler food and I started to change things and my husband asked for a few winter meals so I told him this is his last time for a few months. I am not ready for the heat but I know it is going to be hot!!
@homemadehomestead29853 жыл бұрын
I kind of do a little bit of both. I have an inventory, but I also have a sort of list of our favorite meals, so if I ever get stuck not able to think of anything, I can just pull from one of those. This kind of thing, it's hard to say what's the "right" way, or if there even IS one. Maybe it's different with everybody. It's funny how those things work...it's easy to think of hot meal ideas that sound good as soon as it's summer time, and ya don't really want to make them anymore. :P Yeah, we're looking at a hot, and DRY summer too, unfortunately. We're praying so hard for rain. I don't know if it's ever been this bad.

How do you personally stick to the budget? I spend $800 on groceries a month family of 5. I want to spend less but it's like when I try I still fail. It also sucks that food prices have gone up and alot of things are not in stock
@homemadehomestead29853 жыл бұрын
Yeah, well, food prices going way up definitely isn't going to help. It's hard to come up with a blanket answer, because everybody's situation is a little different. I would say, look at what you're eating. Are you eating expensive foods? Heavy in meat, or special ingredients? Really try to shop sales, and start trying to buy in bulk when items go on for a crazy good deal. It also helps to have that meal plan already, and try to make what you already have in your house stretch. I hope that helps. :)
