Whatever tool you plan on using... Matches, Lighters, Ferro rod or Flint & Steal, this fire making technique will work for you. This is my go to method of making a fire when wild camping of bushcrafting. It's also a great skill to know if you've found yourself in a survival situation. All materials I use have been foraged from the woodland.
I'm confident this will also work in wet and rainy, even windy conditions as long as you follow the process properly and you don't skip steps.
Fire Preparation is the most important part of the whole process, I always setup up four piles of materials. When building my camp fire.
There is a lot of tips & tricks out there on fire making but I want to keep this video focused on one specific method.
You can also add birch bark and fatwood to this method (really flammable natural material) and if possible I recommend you add some of this material to your fire kit on those days where the conditions do not allow you to forage.
Let me know your methods of making that campfire when out camping in the comments below.

Hope you enjoy!

Nice video again. Great straightforward tips. I like how you have videos on many different subjects. But like you say, a more detailed advice is welcome too. Just make videos that you like to make, you have plenty of followers who keep watching.

Like seeing these rather than expensive tent reviews like another video you have done explaining about camping in rain that’s what most of us come up against so it’s refreshing other than check out my 2lb setup that cost me 2500 lol 😂

hello bro, hope your OK, cool vid , like the twine idea . you've mentioned in other vids about fat wood but you covered that in video so that's cool.do you always make the same size fire?. love learning from your vids I've just bought a axe which I need to pick up and I got titanium cook pot delivered this morning so itching to get out and use them. do you do one pot cooking and if so what do you cook ? hope your OK mate, have a nice weekend.

Usually just the same size fire. I know people like to make longer fires if they're using them to stay warm overnight. I'd like to give that a try one time.. Just a fire and a wool blanket. Sounds good mate! I normally just cook on a little grill, I need to up my cooking game so I should start using a pot also. Let me know if you cook up some nice meals, I might steal some ideas of you haha
