That is frustratingly simple! I have spent (wasted) hours trying to figure out how to adjust my flap throws - how I wish I had watched your tutorial first! Thank you.

Great tutorial Martin, I previously used end points and rulers. This is a simplistic and accurate way of getting it done right. Jets are getting reprogrammed tonight! Love this gem thank you 👌🏼

Nice, is it also possible to cobtrol the flaps with throttle stick? Instead the 3possition switch? Of course whithout starting a motor?

Hey Martin would you consider doing videos at the field for flight maneuvers and what is to be expected .
@dodohawkgfflaps49392 жыл бұрын
This option would be for E glider, I use the trothel stick to power up tge engine, and also same stick for using a butterfly flaps down ailerones up, proportionally moving stick up same like turning the engine moving tge flaps down. Of course I change tge flight mode to land, where the motor ia inactive. This I do on my old spektrun radio. Is this also passible on Core? Thank you Martin

Well I have a Futaba T7C,it says computer on the front,but it does not have all the tech you have on yours,so I’m none the wiser,do you know if you can do this on mine,thanks

I think the Futaba 7 has a flap option but you will need to use the predefined setup

so glad i have spektrum, don't know if its me being used to this radio but i find it so much easier (no i'm not sponsored by spektrum )
@MartinPickering-PickeringRC4 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, been ages since I setup flaps on a Spek, but from memory wasn't it a pain to set the "zero" flap position, even if flap1 and flap2 were then a doddle? Please correct me if wrong! Some radios are easier than others, most high end radios however the flap systems are genuinely overly complex, and this is just a super simple way, and even in predefined programs, it can't get much easier than this?! (set zero, set flap 1, set flap 2, go fly?!)
@miksterr4 жыл бұрын
Chris, I’ve owned & used all types of Spektrum over the years from basic to iX12. Only iX12 got close to the core. The core Tx is light years ahead of Spektrum in flexibility, programming and more. See how easy was to assign a Servo at start? Try that with Spektrum!
@ModelAV8RChannel4 жыл бұрын
@@miksterr It is easy to assign a servo with Spektrum...you simply go to "channel assign" and whatever switch, gimbal, roller you set to that port in the RX that servo is now controlled by it. But there is a much easier way to set up flaps with Spektrum. If you tell the TX what kind of wing setup you will have when you set it up for the plane (in this case chose 2 aileron servo, 2 flap servo) there will now already be a flap setup option. Both servos will be operated by the switch you chose. On that one flap setup page you can chose the switch, adjust the 3 positions (up, takeoff/ landing flaps), mix in elevator to compensate for the flaps, and control the speed at which they deploy. Super easy. I'm not sponsored either, but if anybody thinks setting up flaps with a Spektrum is hard...they probably don't know their way around it. That said...I've helped guys with Spektrum, Futaba, Jeti, etc. that owned transmitters for a long time and had no idea the easiest way to set up flaps with them. There ARE ways to do it other than the way I mentioned with Spektrum, but they are much more a pain than the way I mentioned...which BTW is the way its designed to be done.

Model Aviator Adventures yeah i have a spektrum & do it the way u say, can’t really go wrong. i had a futaba FF9 & it was stupid hard to program, it took me 2 days & i still couldn’t get them both to work, asked someone up the field & it turned out u had ta go into another menu & activate summat else that u wouldn’t think 🤔 would b related in anyway & it didn’t even tell u that step in the instruction book lol 😂 spektrum is so much easier 😬

This is almost how I do it on my it on my models. So its good to see a pro doing it in a similar way. The only difference with mine is that I only use one function or mixer for both flaps, which use a single curve. I can see the advantages of using 2 for tuning though. The other things I do are slow the flap servos slightly and add a bit of elevator compensation. On electric models is repurpose the trim for the throttle. It allows me to fine tune the elevator compensation in flight. So I can get up high and tune the flaps.
@MartinPickering-PickeringRC4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mr D, great name! Falling with style!! You could use the same mixer for both here too, but I just find it easier with separate ones as otherwise there is always one that is one of the positions is just a little off and a pain to fix, so this way it is really fast to fix ! With regards to the flap trim, which radio are you on? Most you can do that with flight modes, and you can actually use the same elevator trim for all three flap settings (I think the way you have described would only work for one flap setting?) Check out this other video, its on the Core but also works on mostly all Futaba radios and a few others and let me know what you think! kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqHUYn9or9KdjqM

Pickering RC thanks Martin. I use a FrSky X9D Plus transmitter. Its similar in that I have a flight mode for each stage of flaps. That way I can tune the elevator compensation for each stage. It still uses the elevator trim. I was getting confused with my glider, which uses the throttle trim. There are some things that aren’t perfect, but it works well enough. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mH-zqqCrea5_aNE this is how I did it.

You can change the speed of any servo in the same menu as you set the expo for that output, scroll down on the right hand side of the page to view the speed which is towards the bottom
