These are one of my very favorite meals! I am 72 and I remember cooking these in Girl Scouts and my Daddy was a Boy Scout Leader for many years and cooked these on camping trips. We cooked them at home in the oven or on the grill. We used ground beef mixed with a little moistened bread, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and salt/pepper. The meat was first, then potatoes, carrots, and onions. We called them Boy Scout Suppers! lol

How long did you cook the chicken packet? the same as her instructions?
@debbienix84589 ай бұрын
I put carrots and green beans in with the other stuff and serve with salad and rolls. A family favorite. You can Aldo use chicken boneless, any veggies and take a can of mushroom soup divided among the packets. Serve with salad and rolls. Delicious

When I was in Boy Scouts we made these at home and threw them in a cooler on our way to weekend camping trips and just threw em on the coals for dinner. A1 Sauce worked well too. So good, so easy.

These were a staple food for my kids and myself all throughout the summer. I kept meat in the freezer in individual bags. Each person could choose the meat of their choice, cut up potatoes and added veggies from a can or the fridge. Add butter, salt, pepper and any other seasonings of choice. Cook on the grill outside on both sides. If not on the grill, use an oven or toaster oven. Not sure if this would work in an air fryer. It might by cooking the meat first especially if right out of freezer. This saved so many arguments for "What's for dinner"..!! Neighbor kids would even join in if I got out a package of hotdogs. So many fun summer memories. This can be done on an open camp fire also.

We fixed these when we were kids when we were in the girl scouts in 1964. We put them in the hot coals in the fire. They were yummy then and they still are in my oven. Lol I'm 69 now.

I do something similar, except I use pork chops, s, canned potatoes, green beans, mixed veggies, and mixed stuffing on top. Back 1 hour st 350. Starting with meat sude down, then turn over after 30 minutes, to let the pork chop grease drain into the other items and season them, 😊

You are using any pans or whatever BUT you ARE using A LOT of aluminum foil. And because you are using aluminum foil, you cannot recycle it. For me that is just too much waste.

These meals are great but the title should Not include "No clean up for dinner." There is always clean up regardless of how big or small. No clean up would mean no clean up but there is Always a clean up.
